It makes this noise after driving I shut my car if and the noise disappears, the sound is coming from left side

I had a similar problem with my datsun 240z, my car in particular had quite a bit of torque and power because. After investigating the noise it turned out to be the connecting rod shaft on one of the pistons had snapped. However something could just be loose causing the rattle.
