I think you should be able to re-buy in poker tournaments

I know it free rolls it won’t work but in ones where you need to buy in you should be able to re buy. The main pot would be bigger and when playing you could play more aggressive because you know that you could re buy before the late registration.

I don’t think that would work well, people with lots of money can just keep rebuying in and it would make the tournaments last way longer and mess up a lot of things including monthly Mtt leaderboards too.

It won’t make the tournaments longer because people would be more inclined to be more risky and would be able to re buy. Also they would be late registration so it does not matter if people re buy that just means that they are adding money to the main pot. It annoying if you were waiting for a tournament to happen and you lose right away and all that waiting was for nothing.

rebuy allows bingo style players to just keep buying in hoping they will hit a few good hands and then make the end. IMO it doesn't lend itself to thoughtful poker play.

It kind of comes down to what type of poker you enjoy. Some like huge pots, lots of action, big risk. Others prefer a more mental approach and smart play.

I get that some players might go all-in recklessly, but rebuys (limited and within late reg) actually add strategy and keep the game fun. Busting early after waiting sucks and a rebuy gives players a second shot while growing the pot.
Most formats cap rebuys anyway, so it’s not just for deep pockets. It’s about giving everyone a fair chance to stay in the game a bit longer without ruining the balance
