Is it okay to run the game in a VM?

My gaming PC runs Linux, and the PC version of VI crashes a few seconds after loading the penthouse.
I've set up a Windows 10 VM with GPU Passthrough, and managed to get Beat Saber running perfectly. But I don't want to jump straight into VI because EAC might detect the VM and flag me.
Will I get banned for running the game in a VM? (To be clear, I haven't done it, just trying to get some confirmation)
