I think two things that i've experienced that would help game progression are allowing for essentially a 2x or 3x speed or more for gambit so you're not waiting the full 30 minutes or so on every attempt and having to hold down on the cursor and also allowing for an arc line on games like fishing, balling, and darts so you're not just at the wims of muscle memory.

I agree with speeding up the gambit (it takes too long to want to try to get a new best, and looking away for too long might get you to lose.
However, the arc lines would probably defeat the whole purpose of those minigames.
(And I say that having gotten none of the trophies from those minigames.)
