Could we get commas in the big numbers in the storage chest? (and also perhaps in the backpack, though I haven't gotten carry caps over 4 digits yet, so that has less of an impact.)

Without commas, ten thousand looks so similar to a hundred thousand, and I absolutely could not tell a hundred thousand from a million without counting the digits, and I'd need to count more than once to be sure.

Meanwhile, 10,000 vs 100,000 vs 1,000,000 is perfectly clear

i'm not sure if this helps you at all, but one easy way to tell if something is over a million is that there is very visibly no more room for another number

Because of that, there's not really room for commas and seven digits, but you could possibly make numbers something like this:

1000000
100,000
 10,000
  1,000
    100
     10
      1```

if you see a comma, it's under 1mil. if you don't, it's over.

honestly, I'd also be fine with if once it reached a million it changed to like, "1000 K" instead, because at such a big number its less important to know the small digits

though I realize that having mixed systems like that would probably be trickier to code
