Lava said himself that he didn't fix some past features because he likes the idea that people can have different stats for playing differently, like with potion resource cost from cosmic potions, but we can't make any noticeable difference if diminishing returns exists in more than 1 layer.

Imagine how exciting it would be if you could snag shrine level bonus 167. You could reach 100% exp reduction if you grinded traces for eternity.
