well I can see WHY they did it, it's the easiest way to start getting games that people care about onto their platform and giving people a reason to use EGS. Otherwise people would be like "oo, this game is on EGS, oh wait it's on Steam too with all my other stuff I'll just get it there"
It isn't a GOOD approach and is very scummy though
but like I said it's way easier and faster to throw money at a problem than, i dunno, building a good product and appealing to devs/players with all of their cool features or whatever the fuck
I wanna make one of those 3rd party launchers that links all of your libraries together for multiple launchers. I know there's a bunch of em already but it'd be a neat project
