General rundown seems to be that with Arknights getting more popular in CN, has reached the more general player-base.

These don't really play hard contents as CC as much, so they see SAlter's kit as too weak. As they primarily play general stages that dosen't need Vanguards. Thus now CN bros are apparently currently split 50/50 over if SAlter's kit is good or not.

But you probably feel differently. Some other player will not think that all vanguards ‘do the same thing just differently’ and instead be excited about the different ways in which they enable deployment of other ops and their niche applications

If I were a type of player who enjoyed playstyles other than nuking everything, I may be more excited about operators who bring new mechanics and new ways to interact with the game if I already had enough damage by a wide margin on my roster

I believe this group of players is a decent portion of AKs player base and they could reasonably have been drawn to the game because of its’ strategic nature, being a tower defense and such
