what genre am i making? im not even sure

i challenged myself to try to make a song of at least one minute and chose breakcore (idk if it applies i know some ppl get angry at mislabels) and i think it came out meh or decent, nothing crazy but i wanted to know if i did something right or wrong from someone more experienced, thx in advance :D

not all that bad, i will say
one thing i will point out is that the overall composition felt very repetitive since all you have is just the synth and drums
you could try adding some more melodic layers? there also isn't any bass so that would be nice to add
for stuff like this it could also be cool to change up the drum samples (in moderation of course, maybe have a few alternating throughout)
if you like you can send some updates of the track, would be cool to see your ideas for this ^^

well i chopped 3 breaks, i havent tried combining them but here are the other two

i also was hoping i could use these bass kicks i made but idk if they would fit with how the song is currently going or with the breakbeats at all

i feel like this drop sucks ass but i also feel conflicted cause i kinda like it? its better than nothing which is what i had before so im proud of that at least

i do see what you mean by feeling conflicted, there are some parts that feel random in terms of structure
and the hard kicks did catch me off guard quite a bit 😭

nice track. I think this is the beginning and now I want to hear the drop that comes after. you can make the energy build up by putting a low pass filter on the drums and slowly raising the cutoff, and then doing a fill to go into the drop

the synth sound is really nice and the chords are really fresh actually
