digital or physical? If digital, wait for a sale and get Phaseplant at around 100. If it's physical, good luck finding anything good for that price. Maybe like a MicroKorg at around 200 used since that's a good all around synth, but if you wanna record it that's another 100 bucks on an audio interface and like 30 for a midi interface if you wanna program it. Honestly if you're doing stuff on your computer hardware isn't that big of a deal. You're better off spending money on a good pair of headphones or some higher quality plugins and just continuing digitally.

I haven't done a lot with it yet but I got a MIDI knob controller and it's nice to hit Vital macros with, feels like the hardware synth experience
