trad. trap relies on establishing the tempo before screwing around with the timing of the hits on top, and periodically reinforces at least the downbeat of the measure
this doesn't do either of those things.
hit the first downbeat with a FAT kick. maybe a hit a half beat before the next downbeat, and a hit 3/4beat later. just keep slamming the downbeats with one maybe two kicks randomly between.
give it at least 8 bars before doing triplets and even then don't put them on the downbeat.
you can skip the actual downbeat sometimes by putting a hit shortly before and after.
classic old school funk beat which is most certainly a forerunner of modern trap
