So to start with, I would like Iryont to know that this proposal is not like the Divinity one (free-to-play). Instead, it’s a modern approach aimed at attracting a different type of player base without hurting current revenue and also old servers.

1. Why a Modern Medivia Server?

  • The Medivia player base is relatively old and accustomed to nostalgia-driven gameplay. One of the recurring problems with new servers is migration: players from existing servers move to the new one (rat race, “fresh start”), which weakens the older servers at start, but when the rat race stop they end up going back to the existing servers since the new one offered nothing new but the rat race feeling.

  • A modern-style server would attract a different audience, reducing the pull from old servers. Those who enjoy nostalgia will stay where they are, while this new server captures a separate demographic.

2. Lessons From Serenity

When Serenity was launched (first non-PvP server), it came with unique features: light rope, nobody could open your body after death, no monster respawn blocking, etc. Those features drew in a new player base. While some migrated from PvP servers (due to power abuse, etc), overall it showed the value of alternative gameplay servers.

This proposal is in the same spirit: not to fully abandon nostalgia, but to create a hybrid option that sits between nostalgia and modern expectations.

3. Suggested Features

3.1 Enhanced Gold Pouch / Auto Gold Loot

  • Clicking on a corpse automatically sends gold into your pouch.

  • Implemented via an Enhanced Gold Pouch for X mc.

3.2 Starting Character Boost

  • New accounts on this server start with 7 days of premium (this offers lasts for the first 3 months after launch).

  • Includes a free 1h exp boost and dummy scroll. (This can be adjusted)

Boosts the sense of an active, populated world. Even if some accounts are makers, raw online numbers always create a good impression.

3.3 House Dummy Target (Alternative Training Option)

  • Cost: X MC one-time purchase, plus X MC training tool train with inside house.

  • Mechanic: hits once every 5 seconds → very slow skill gain, but affordable compared to 6 MC/click tables.

Aimed at players with limited playtime, e.g., those who work all day and cannot remote access. They still make progress without worrying about farming cursed goblets daily or spending 30 mc a day.

For players who want faster progress, have plenty of time to play, or can safely remote access at work, the regular training dummies remain the better option. These players won’t spend that amount of MC for a slow-paced house dummy target, keeping the two systems balanced.

3.4 Bronze Hammer for Lootbagging

  • Breaks loot into materials sellable to NPCs for 70% of original value.

  • Helps players with cap issues, letting them stay longer in spawns and enjoy the game loop.

  • Rewards players who prefer manual lootbagging (100% value).

3.5 Gold Coin Roulette

  • Inspired by the Anniversary Event Roulette.

  • Designed as an inflation sink.

  • Devs adjust pricing and rewards dynamically. Could include: unique dummy skins, cosmetic outfits, mystery boxes, etc.

3.6 Boss-Triggered Server Events

  • Rare bosses trigger global boosts on death. Examples:

  • The Old Widow: +10% exp for 1h.

  • Uliaathar: +50% exp for 2h.

  • Baalmerach: +100% skill gain for 3h.

Encourages players to log in, hunt, and use consumable boosts, improving both activity and revenue.

I don't expect everything to be added or liked by the old discord community, but if one or another is doable would be a nice outcome.
