Apparently the spirit is supposed to be removed from the game entirely, but it's not removed for me, and it is enabled by default in custom games. I guess you missed that part.
Anyway, when a ghost tries to use it, the bear can only walk around and can't do anything else, so it's just a waste.

Ghost spirit is meant to be available in custom games, and can be toggled on/off through the settings for such matches.
You should be able to attack and growl (using the left mouse button) after transforming and as long as you're not in the vicinity of the Cabin. Were you not seeing this abilities available to you?

No, also they have no animations. They just slide on the ground. Also, their voice chat permanently breaks until they restart the game.
It happens almost every time.
Or rather, the bear works one game. The next game it doesn't.
