How are you controlling it without a relay?

I would guess via a control input to the power supply, i.e. replacing the pushbutton.

Likely an opto-isolator, or just a regular transistor

The control signal is pulled up to 5V by the power supply, so just needs an open collector or open drain pulldown to activate.
