This project uses ESPHome, a Wemos D1 Mini (ESP-8266), and a magnetic reed switch sensor to monitor the time your dog spends inside their kennel. The onboard LED will light up when the kennel door is open, and turn off when closed.

It started when my daughter started her job. I was out and came back home later in the afternoon and wondered how long had the dog been in his crate. Was he in just 30 minutes or all morning?

I want to make sure he gets enough "yard" time.

It was quick and cheap. I sure it could be used for all sorts of use cases.
