#Converted solar inverter Wi-Fi dongle

Nice. I did a similar thing to my Sunsynk dongle, running an ESP32-C3-Mini. Not entirely convinced it was a smart idea, as this disconnects me from the vendor cloud, meaning I can no longer get firmware updates for my inverter. That said, if it aint broke, don't mess with it, and I am not having any problems that might require an inverter firmware update, so ...
I couldn't even get the dongle to work with the stock firmware. When trying to connect it, it said something about having a wrong id.
LOL! Well, in that case, have at it!
Did you at least take a backup of the vendor firmware before overwriting it?
Yes, I got a copy of that too 🙂
Nice dashboard for it too 🙂
The new Sections mode is so much easier to use. Still, all my dashboards are just generic looking.
FWIW, there is a "sunsynk" card in HACS that has some nice features. Not necessarily specific to Sunsynk inverters, although some of the parameters refer to a sunsynk modbus register number for clarity.
I like that "Pool" is considered "Essential" in that diagram 😅
Well, it is powered from the inverter, while other heavy loads (oven, underfloor heating) are poowered directly from the grid.
It's not strictly essential, as I have a smart relay controlling it, so can easily adjust the length of time it runs (if it runs at all)
In my system the most important load on the essential circuit is the espresso machine.
That is the one I am already using
😂 Guess that’s a testament to how configurable the card is that I didn’t recognize it. Or to how tired I was!
