Gutted a M5 Echo Atom and stuck it into this $20 Walmart droid. Connected the speaker wires to the speaker pads in the Echo, using the side where G25 & G21 are connected to the positive and negative terminals of the led. Attached a little battery to the + and - terminals of the Echo GPIO
The video is of an automation I made real quick to show that there is control of the led using the GPIO 25 & 21. I posted all my YAML code below.
Next step, maybe buy more of these and more echos and implement a servo to move the head, also would love to bop it in the head as an activation to start the assistant.
Sorry for the messy top, I don't have a Dremel and the iron was the only tool I had. I have another one coming on the way since this is a RadioShack soldering iron from early 2010.
