What inspired you to use ESPHome instead of WLED for this?

I'll never understand taping/gluing a breadboard with all those loose wires to the wall and considering it finished. To each his own I guess, I just dont know what people have against using a 5$ project box to put it in and make it safe. They come in all shapes, sizes, colors, configurations... I highly recommend them.
