Some weeks ago I applied a second revision to my previous Smart Powermeter project, for keeping track of the current consumed at home.

  • The current V2R2 version features:
  • ESP32-S2 based
  • 2.9" e-paper (Waveshare's)
  • Support for 6 x CT clamps (SCT-013-xxx)
  • 100/240VAC to 5VDC power module (HLK-2M05)

Of course it's open source (https://smart-powermeter.readthedocs.io) and Made for ESPhome 🤟 esphome . If you want to support the project, you can get it on Elecrow (https://www.elecrow.com/smart-powermeter.html) and leave some comments on what would be nice to have in further versions!

This is really nice, I bought one! But why are you including 100A probes by default from elecrow?

Just to be very conservative. But yes, in the future I will change to something smaller and more convenient 😉

Unfortunately I have overlooked it when I placed the order and now I will have 6 probes that I have little to no use for 😦

Any intention to add voltage monitoring to allow correct measurement of true power and not just estimated apparent power?

#

Eg in the UK, apparent power is ignored. We're only billed on our active/true power usage. As apparent power is a higher figure, this device would over report compared to my meter (or the device I actually use)
