My dietitian requested that i only take a snack once in 2 hours.
Sadly i was not able to figure the time between the snack moments easily.
So, i decided to make a clock that would show when i'm allowed to take a snack again.
When 2 hours are elapsed the clock shows a blinking marker around the clock.
This clock has 3 buttons; the first one notify that i have taken a snack,
the second button shows the remaining time, and the last switches to clock in to a kitchen timer etc.

The display is a MAX7219 Digit Display controlled by an esp32S3 running esphome.
Via the HA dashboard i can see when i toke me snack, what the next snack-time is and tell the timer that i have taken a snack.

I like to finished it off by adding a printed sticker

looking good mate!!

#

is that an off the shelf enclosure?

#

a tip I would give is get some paper card and make a bezel arround the display

#

this way u can pull the eye to the display more and hide any scuff marks from the filing of the hole

You figured out how to make a snack timer but doing a, "Hey Alexa/Siri/Google start a 2 hour timer" was too much to figure out or likewise manually starting a timer on your phone?

Been pondering this exact thing, since I'm supposed to be on a 3-hour between foods (Different dietician I guess)
Big 👍 from me!

(and no, doing the Voice Assistant thing doesn't do the trick because one you forget to set it, your schedule is ducked up)
