#Brewing Fermentation Temp Controller

Using a custom PCB from a defunct online project and repurposed it into an ESPHome temp controller for my homebrewing!

Next up is figuring out the display... I have an ST7789V display ready to go but wasn't able to figure out the code before I needed to use the temp controller.

Maybe some other time.

Or I'll just set up a dedicated brewery tablet that runs home assistant and go without a GUI for the controller!

What a cool project πŸ™‚

Is beer better when done with ESPhome ? πŸ™‚

Sure, it depends. In case you can plug it starlight to a device, then yes. If you are plugging a extension lead to it then these leads doesn't make sense.

@median vortex this might help explain it... The control box is mounted on the back. It's much, MUCH easier to unplug with these extensions without having to move the entire fermentation stand, which weighs 200lbs when full.

The blue leads are for cooling and stay plugged in.

The red are for heating and need to be unplugged when I remove the fermenters for cleaning or anything else

Cool, I'm just using a wifi inkbird for fermentation control, but using an esphome for actual brewing - temp control during mash, pump control and heating element % during boil. Would be cool to add fermentation control

# iron thunder Cool, I'm just using a wifi inkbird for fermentation control, but using an espho...

I was using the same. The problem I had is this is in my garage, in Vegas. Over the summer, when the garage is 115Β°, the inkbird kicks on my glycol pumps one degree above set point, the temp continued to rise another degree or two, then it would finally fall and overshoot by 3-5 degrees because it would be on for so long.

Doesn't really affect the beer all that much but it was annoying to me!

So this is set to I think 0.2 degree difference.

Additionally, I plan to import my batches from Brewfather and have home assistant automate the fermentation temperatures based off of what's set in the batch recipe.
