Not so while ago I've made multisensor for my smart home powered by Home Assistant. Multisensor has sensors for temperature, humidity, illuminance and motion (PIR). Also multisensor has one relay for controlling the light or other device.

I've also made a video about this project:

Hope you'll like it. Cheers!

Thank you

Very nice idea 💪

How many wires are running from the wall switch to the ceiling then? 3 or 4?

#

Like 1 pair for (AC) power and another pair (DC?) for signaling the act of switching?

Thanks. Only 1 pair of wires coming for AC power. There is no switching, multisensor is always ON because switch on the wall is always in ON state.

Yes, yes, there is a relay 😄

#

Relay is controlled only from the Home Assistant.

yes

and the (old?) wall switch does what now? 😛

#

also got a esp behind?

Nothing. I've locked old switch with the tape in ON state 😄

#

So the multisensor can always have AC power

could just rewire it with a wago connector in the wall switch box

#

and then also add a esp behind the wall switch to make it smart 💡

#

and a buzzer 🔊 (you never know)

Yes, but in my case I don't have Neutral wire in the switch. Switch only breaks the Phase wire.

#

Btw, do you know is there any chance to power the ESP with only phase wire, without neutral one ?

That relies on being able to pull some current through the controlled device without it noticing. That works great for incandescent lights, not so good for anything else.

There are things you can install alongside led lights to make that trick work, but they’re basically bypass resistors that will crush your efficiency gains

This is awesome. Thanks for this video. I am wanting to make my own motion sensor combo with an 8266 (ESPHome), PIR (enter), and a mmWave (exit and room presence), and between this video and another I recently watched, I think I will make my own "PCB". I have a 4K resin printer, and the other video I mentioned showed how to create an STL and then UV "cure" the photosensitive paper with a resin printer.
