Version 1.8.5 Linux

Step by Step:

  1. I start a new endless map
  2. I open a contract
  3. While in the contract menu, the shortcuts to change the time and pause don't work
  4. The buttons that are clickable with the mouse still work
  5. I click those
  6. I close the contract window with the esc key on my keyboard
  7. the map is gone

I can't reproduce it sadly

Works again after a reload of an older autosave

It hasn't happened to me again, so no idea what could be wrong

No wait, it just moved the screen to the bottom right corner

I can see the map in the top right corner of the screen, it's just not really readable since those parts aren't unlocked

Sadly not, I'll play some more and check if it ever happens again

hm are you sure the map was gone and not just scrolled away? Sometimes when closing the "edit contract" overlay the game scrools to the left bottom corner of the map for me
