#[✓1.17.15] Null shunting command queue spams NPRs

The auto save feature and manual saving does not create a new save file. Overwriting an existing save deletes it, without creating an upto date save.

Steps to reproduce:
Complete a normal save.

Wrong Behavior:
Save fails to complete, overwritten files are deleted and not replaced.

Map:
Wroclaw

I've attached the player log and save. Upon loading, there is a signal that has a ghost lock on, but I do not know if that is related.

After this save, the save feature fails, so no more game saves are successful.

#

The image above is a preview image, which shows the ghosted signal that has locked the track.

.

#

i'm wondering how that happened?!

smoky robin
#

I've no idea. I did look at the player.log to see if there is something I could do. I looked at all the shunting stuff, and deleted all commands, but no difference. I looked in the coach yard, and found a train in there. I pulled it out, but the shunting command button is not working

#

I was able to manually move the train out, however

grizzled kelp
#

yeah that train has one of it's commands as null that is why the shunting commands button is broken

smoky robin
#

Ahhh

grizzled kelp
#

i guess you have rejected the contract of that train

#

it has no contract

#

do you remeber what commands that train was using

smoky robin
#

I did cancel one a short while ago, as I was getting confused with the shunting

#

Yes

grizzled kelp
#

Do you have a save before rejecting that contract?

smoky robin
#

No, it was overwritten at the time of this bug

grizzled kelp
#

You have 4 commands in that train's queue

smoky robin
#

That was the original shunting track

#

Red circles were sensors, no reversing

grizzled kelp
#

you have
GoToSignal -> GoToSignal -> missing command -> go to shunting group

#

what was the missing command i'm wondering!

smoky robin
#

missing command might be a deleted sensor, so I did re arrage the shunting track to get the train engine to face the correct direction of travel

#

I had a contract for a regional train to try it out. I wasn't happy with the shunting as it wasn't working well for me (Train kept going in reverse, causing gridlock). I cancelled the contract, but had the train remaining. I threw that into the couch yard. A while later, I gave it another try after trying the tutorials. This is the current track

#

Then I noticed random signals getting set off, then finally, the saves stopped working

grizzled kelp
#

i see a go to shunting group command

#

where was the shunting track?

#

is it possible that the missing command is a reuse train ccommand ?

smoky robin
#

I've no idea, as I was trying to figure out the setup process

grizzled kelp
#

well we have a missing rejected contract and a missing command

#

my guts tell me something happened to the reuse train command when you rejected the contract

#

because other commands do not make sense to be null

#

well i have to investigate more

smoky robin
#

There are two trains in Coach Yard 6a98, REG534A1 is in there

grizzled kelp
#

hmm, rejeting the contract clears the commands

#

that is not the problem

smoky robin
#

It was on the last sensor, but I don't know what order

grizzled kelp
#

So did your game go to normal after you managed sending that train out of the map?

#

or you still can not save even after sending the train out?

smoky robin
#

After I cancelled the contract, the train just stopped on the platform. I sent it into the coach yard, where it sits now

grizzled kelp
#

hmm

#

so the commands were working ok before rejecting the contract!

smoky robin
#

Yes

#

Just the train was going in reverse

#

I just pulled the train out of the coach yard, and it's just sat here with no where to go

grizzled kelp
#

Well that train has a bunch of errors now

#

try sending it out of the map

smoky robin
#

That log has gone conisderably larger

grizzled kelp
#

does the game saves now?

smoky robin
#

No

grizzled kelp
#

well, i'm not sure what Magic has been done to that command

#

the logs only says that there is an error in the commands

#

but have no clue what command was that and why

smoky robin
#

I did use a reuse command, but no reverse command

#

The log above is after I sent the train off of the map

grizzled kelp
#

lol i guess i found an issue

#

you can send the train to a coach yard using a shunting group command which i believe is a bug

#

well it's ok to have that command but it has errors in your save

#

i will investigate

smoky robin
#

I did let it run for a couple of minutes, but the save won't save due to a shunting command error

grizzled kelp
#

yeah i advice you to go back a while with the saves as this can not be solved on it's own

#

so find yourself a save where it's not broken and continue from there

smoky robin
#

Broken save.. aww well

#

Unless it's possible to remove the broken train from the save

Null shunting command queue spams NPRs

grizzled kelp

i tried deleting signal of a command

#

the command is having the red warning color but no errors

trail salmon
#

even after save&load?

grizzled kelp
#

well i can not save and load there

#

but i will try

grizzled kelp
#

it is a deleted signal

#

but the command should not be the first one

#

it handles the first command that has a deleted signal but not the rest looks like

grizzled kelp
#

Here, this is the fixed save

#

you can load it and continue normally from there

smoky robin
#

Thank you very much

FIX: Saving a go to signal shunting command with a deleted signal leads to a NPR and breaks the load
Will be solved in version 1.17.15

smoky robin

I will avoid the shunting until this update rolls out
