Playing on Quest 3 stand-alone.

While holding and shooting RFB with both hands, my secondary hand (left) involuntarily detaches and the gun suddenly flips to a weird angle. I experience this regularly. This only began with the most recent update.
It doesn’t happen EVERY time, but it’s so consistent I’m going to have to stop using the RFB. It’s fucking me over left and right

Please, for the love of god fix this. Thanks!!

Hmmm very possible. Definitely different, but maybe that change in grip triggered this glitch.

Yeah, it's most of the guns. Does seem to be the same issue as the posts Civitello linked to.

I've been paying attention for the last few days. If you grabbed the gun, it used to stay stuck. Now it lets go if your hand moves too far. This is bad for two reasons:

  • If you turn really fast, and the Quest misreads the controller for a second, your offhand can disconnect. Then you don't know until you start shooting, leading you to miss your shot, die, and possibly lose the whole match. A very frustrating loss.
  • As the Quest 3 sometimes have tracking issues, I (and presumably many other players) have instinctively taken to grasping, and then reaching forward to get more consistent tracking. Now this will result in letting go of the gun.

Reloads are one thing, but grabbing the gun should not be difficult, as that's not something you'd ever really have to think about in real life.

It’s excessive to be sure the slightest movement detaches it for me. I’ve noticed it on the MP9 as well.

@tropic pelican is this a purposeful change to require steady hands, or a glitch?

It’s not an intended change, but steady hands are not really accurate to the issue happening.

We are looking into grip boxes but I would recommend to be more deliberate in grabbing guns with your secondary hands in the correct location on the gun

For example on the Magnum (a common issue gun atm) grabbing the barrel will cause issues, but currently the indicator to grab is present far up the barrel. Grab both hands on the actual handle, and this issue stops.

That may be a bad explanation atm (out of office) but we are looking into this for the next release
