#Rift is broken with 11/4 update unplayable

I have same problem with CV1 playing steam version since update 2 weeks ago, but I know some people playing pcvr with quest using steam version who have the same issue. BigBox just don't care enough to even acknowledge the problem or to fix it and seem to be only concerned about standalone support these days
Hate to be also add negativity about this game. When i started playing, my best ping was 170. After all this updates (more like downgrades....) my best ping now is 270, no haptics, frame drops, lag, lag, lag, etc. This game is now totally broken for me. Can't even play this anymore just to enjoy it, never mind comp.... I'll just play COD Warzone. At least there i get lobbies with around 30 ping...
Quest 3 steam broke too lag is unplayable
This bug is still ongoing @granite cloak effecting Steam Version played on Rift and also for some Steam Version played with wired quest.
Any chance anyone of the devs will actually look into this at some point?
Game is only barely playable if you only use long range single fire combat.
Close quarter combat and fps drops typically below 20-40fps and gun can't be aimed or even moved till you stop firing
I wonder if it is just the Steam version that is broken?? I really don't want to buy the Meta version, have to pay $$ again, lose all my skins, AND start from scratch (almost level 65) after putting thousands of hours into this game. UGGGGH
Stream version still shit since experimental beta got taken
Changing OpenXR to steamVR in the steam settings instead of Oculus runtime seems to remove the jitter/lag for Rift CV1. Just means I gotta switch every time I play Pop1 caus all other games perform better in oculus runtime
^worked for my buddy on Quest 3 as well, @sick copper and @sharp gulch you should try this it might work for you also
I will try it again! I’ve sent my q2 to get fixed so atleast I will have that option some people also said to change the meta plugin compatibility
Merci werrrr ! You re the best!!!
And not merci to big box! SHAME ON YOU
The open XR change made it less, but still pretty much unplayable in combat. Serious framerate issues in close combat. Rift S works fine but OMG the tracking sucks compared to the CV1. I opened a ticket, let's see if anything gets resolved.
I have received an update from the devs regarding CV1 users.
"The Rift CV1 is not a supported headset. While POP1 may still run on it, we can not guarantee the experience or troubleshoot on it"
SO basically, tough cookies, deal with it.
This is why i hate meta and their dissection to go full on with their standalone quest. Just how amazing it would be to have a modern cv1 but with better lens and a higher resolution display. I would buy one in a heartbeat.
The open XR change made it perfect for me and my friends on CV1 only thing that’s still laggy for me is the main selection menu.
Actual game play and close combat are as good as they’ve ever been and frame rate stays consistent around 90.
That said if I open steam vr and launch the game from in the steam home environment I still get lag in game. But if I close steam vr and launch the game directly from steam desktop menu steam vr still opens in the background but performance in game is perfect.
Running steam vr application for cv1 has always effected performance which is why I use oculus runtime for all my other steam games and launch directly from steam desktop or oculus menu depending on the game.
Exactly. I have and will always have a high end PC, with wires and connections and stuff. I have 4 sensor full room tracking with the CV1 and it is amazing.
I was launching from the steam desktop, never steam environment. I will try to make sure the steam is closed and see if that helps.
So I got this to work with the Open XR change, but now my hands are all screwed up. They are upside down/sideways. They are normal in other apps. If I use the meta XR they are normal, but then the game is unplayable. It was working last night, but now it stopped. It happens with the Rift S as well, if I am using the Open XR. There must be a setting somewhere. So frustrating!
My steam xr when set has its hands all messed and oculus xr is just way too laggy quest 3 steam
The annoying part is that it did work for me . I got the messed up hands and I think I re-paired my controllers or re-setup the headset, but I got it to work. I played all last night and it was great. I played some pokerstars vr after that, and that also worked fine. I went to play today and nothing works.💩
OK so I figured out my hands issue. In the Steam VR menu Open XR settings tab there is a "Meta Plugin Compatability" setting. When I set it to "Off" my hands retured to normal. I did have to reassign my sound once in the game.
