PCVR or native? if PC steam or Oculus?

Did you wait longer than 2 minutes? every once and awhile it'll take forever which can be annoying. Make sure you are not loading the beta version if you are a playtester. Could always factory reset which is annoying but sometimes can't be avoided. If you only play pop1 then its not so bad.
That was the next thing that I would do, a factory reset

Check if you automatically received the Quest 3 update V71 today. Some people on Reddit are having the same issue. Me too. I can't log in on the Quest 3 standalone in Pop One. Logging in via Quest 3 using Virtual Desktop works. I have no Hope that any Dev care about that. BUT BB please help. It seems like it’s due to the V71 update.
I dont know why my quest direct update to V71. I believe yesterday my Version of quest Meta was V69. What happened with V70? Strange

I am installing the Oculus Link app now and then installing POP1. And then trying to connect to it with Virtual desktop....
Anoying...
And tomorow I won't be home.... So I won't have my PC there.... I can't play tomorrow then. 😦

We are looking into issues related with v71 rolling out
It’s pretty bad. V71 dead, so I go over to PCVR. Can only get one game in before the screen goes black with a “Out of storage space” error… on a drive with 400GB free. You guys got some bugs!
And then the game doesn’t actually exit… I have to task manager -> end task it
I think this is a v71 headset bug though not a pop 1 bug
I always spam the X button 5-6x until its goes light grey then I get a box to force quit on Oculus PCVR
Yeah we confirmed this is a v71 headset bug.
If you opt out of v71 beta you'll be able to log in again
The OS v71 team is also fixing the bug and should have a new v71 beta "soon"

Have we got a fix on the pcvr issues
I did this, set twice my Q3 off and on again. But still on V71 and no pop1. Still the same. Now did factory reset again (after toggling of for the test channel), and still on V71. I am now installing pop1 again. But I haven’t got a good feeling that it will work. And it is still the same. No pop1 for me. Hate it 😭😭😭😭😭

lol! Gave contractors a try to pass some time. I was quite a spring chicken in those lobbies.
Was thinking Vail if I can convince Dookie and Huck to play with.
Contractors is too slow for me, I don't want to put armor plates on my chest and find attachments. I'm an arcade style player at heart. Run and gun. But I know there are a ton of people who loves showdown so I get it.

No - never heard of it. Have my pop1 blinders on. Just checked some vids out - looks fun!
I like Contractors. Vail is OK but it doesnot feel a bit janky. Not smooth.

I tried Contractors again after I ignored it for months..
It is good.
But I prefer the arcade style gameplay of pop1. And besides I have gathered a nice group of pop1 friends whom I play with most every night...

From what I understand is that you are trying to downgrade your device and I acknowledge you for doing a factory reset on your end, thank you.
Looking further upon your request you can not downgrade your Meta Quest 3 Device once your have already updated it. I completely understand that you would like to continue with a previous update that you have used and I can imagine how important this is to you to play this game on your Meta Quest 3 device. I would recommend uninstalling this application and reinstalling it back again on your device.
However, please know that after into looking into this request for you please know that you will not be able to back date your device once it has been updated. In addition it is similar to when you update a phone, you will not be able to go back. I completely understand that this is important to you and I truly wish there was more I was able to do regarding this request but I do hope you understand.

On there website they mentioned that a downgrade is possible from the V71 beta, in the above reply it is not possible….
That looks an awful lot like a A.I. reply.. And not even a good one.....
yea, meta versions are going only one way - up
you can never downgrade, been like that for years.
im always on PTC since i operate Quests in schools and education in general in VR and i like to get on top of OS changes as it affects me on a wider scale.
this is the first time though in 4y that im on PTC and im unable to access the game at all.
guess the time to have a separate quest for testing and daily drive has come. This is beyond stupid that an OS update is limiting me from accessing content.
After their mail they have closed my ticket, as resolved. I reopened it again. It is not resolved. And there info on their website is different as in their reply.
Did anyone Else opened a ticket for this? Of just me? The more People that open a ticket, thé more they are aware of the problem. If it is just me, they don't look a it. So everyone with the same problem, open a ticket on meta website
Let's hope that thé pop1 update resolve this problem
dunno, seems to be a need for an OS update, and not an app update. otherwise BB would have pushed a fix sooner to a different branch
i really find it funny that Meta OS updates breaks own Meta games.
I opened a ticket and they said it would be fixed yesterday (independent of an OS fix). With this, state of PCVR, this “Halloween roadmap”… getting an strong idea on how much they care about the game and us.
This is the answer from meta support. 😂😂😂 I told them I'll be never more a part of PTC

Have any of y'all tried getting the v69 firmware file itself and then sideloading the firmware via the bootos recovery?
This did not work. Opt out, factory reset, now I have removed pop1, installed again after the update, but still the same….

Even tho the meta instructions say it will auto downgrade to the current general release - this no longer happens. Meta support also says it will not downgrade. Those instructions are apparently outdated.
What I have now noticed. Since the V 71 update, Virtual Desktop shows "no connection to the meta servers" at startup. Does anyone else have this?

Probably they will realize they need to fix it when meta releases GA 71 and it breaks everyone. Then maybe. But I’m not holding my breath

Every day I sent a new bug report to Meta. The support told me again and again it's the fault of Big Box. That's very disappointing. Please do the same and sent a bug report to Meta again and again.

Actually with the recent updates and them taking away phoenix I’m not in a hurry to return.
I just find it funny that an automatic OS update breaks a game. An update which you can’t roll back. And a problem you can get no support for even though we use Meta devices and play a game owned by Meta.
This is like Ubisoft breaking their launcher for Rainbow Siege but blaming the dev team of the game for the cause.
As a customer I really couldn’t care less, Meta/BB. someone needs to fix this asap!
@stoic idol @wild orbit got already several times the same message from meta with the link how to downgrade, which is not working. And to contact support BB with the problem that pop1 doesn’t launch. Any progress in this?

Your case is routed to me, and I am glad to continue assisting you regarding the issue of the game "POPULATION:ONE" that is not launching with your Quest 3 after upgrading to version 71 using Public Test Channel. This is not the experience we want you to have, and please don't worry, I'll help you with this.
Sorry for the delays in our response, as we're currently experiencing a larger volume of cases than usual. I reviewed your case, and I've came across that this issue hasn't been easy for you. Please note that disabling Public Test Channel will automatically downgrade your device to the current public release. You may not be able to re-enroll if the program is at capacity. If the PTC release is equivalent to the Public Release, downgrade and factory reset will not occur, and you will disable future PTC upgrades. Please click here for additional information.
If you're still experiencing the issue, please perform these additional troubleshooting steps:
Kindly check the Public Test Channel from your headset settings if this is turned on or off. If this is currently turned off, try to turn it on. After that, toggle it to off. Please see additional details here.
Once it is toggled off, please hard reboot or restart your Meta Quest 3 headset.
Hold down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound.
If the boot-up sound is not heard:
Hold the power and volume (-) button down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight "Boot Device" and press the power button.
Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.
Once done, please update your Meta Quest headset using our update tool here.
If possible, please provide a log file for further review. Please click here for the instructions.
Are you launching the game through PCVR or headset only?
We are eager to have this resolved for you, so we look forward to your reply on this.
This means that you need a PC and PC skills to reset the software.
Maybe someone has the courage to try it out.
Whatever it is. You can’t downgrade the quest OS. It’s not possible with ANY tool.

The Quest OS team just told me that they've updated the Public Test Channel with a fix for this issue. Please reboot your headsets and check for OS updates, then install them, then let me know here if it's working again @idle summit @proven vigil @bright gazelle @timid turret @undone gulch @cedar quiver
