Siege is a fortress-defense map: one team attempting to swarm the walls and the other attempting to repel them. The starting kit is just Excalibur, but loot is widely available, including a number of strategically placed (and often risky to reach) 5 star weapons.

The fortress is an exterior wall with towers, with a massive tower in the center. The attacking camp has a few buildings, low broken walls, and some enormous pieces of siege equipment. I have attempted to incentivize an offense and defense logic of gameplay with the physical layout, so that neither a game of peaking snipers nor of spray and pray battles are particularly advantageous. My goal is to have the best available strategy for the besieging team be to press their attack and physically enter the fortress, and for the besieged team to hold their strategic high points and drive the attackers off. I think this will make for a very interesting change in pace from most other Sandbox maps.

The few games I’ve played with friends have been a lot of fun, and I think what I have so far is an excellent foundation for a Deathmatch map. Where I could most use input is in balancing: I want to make sure that there’s not an advantage to either side, which I could adjust with more or less weapon drops, shield stations, defensive structures, etc.

Please hit me up if you’d like to play some rounds of it! Your input and the chance to play this with a full group of people are much appreciated.
