Share your thoughts related to the Awakening System Revamp here!

Details:
All characters except Add will be able to re-awaken.
You can charge up to 3 Awakening Beads.
You cannot charge any more awakening gauge once you charge 3 awakening beads.
The awakening state is not related to the awakening gauge charge.
You can use awakening up to 3 stages.
The buff icon changes depending on the awakening stage.
3 stage awakening characters excluding Ain will show the awakening stack up to 3 stages.
Stage 1 awakening characters will not show stack event when re-awakening.
Use all charged awakening beads upon awakening.
All awakening beads will be used upon re-awakening as well.
Upon re-awakening, if the current awakening stage is lower than 3, the awakening stage will change depending on the number of awakening beads used.
Ex. If you are in stage 1 awakening and have 1 awakening bead, you become stage 2 awakening upon re-awakening.
If you are in stage 1 awakening and have 2 awakening beads, you become stage 3 awakening upon re-awakening.
If you re-awaken when in stage 3 awakening state, stage 3 related effects related to skill or unique system will activate upon re-awakening.
Excluding Add, all character’s basic awakening duration will increase to 90 seconds.
Basic awakening duration will be max 90 seconds, but it can exceed 90 seconds through effects such as skills or stats.
Upon force awakening, it will apply as if you used 1 awakening bead.
Ex. Peek-a-Boo Onion effect, Natal Chart Infortune skill effect, etc.

The new system is great! It took a bit to get used to it, but it's really helpful, especially when you reawaken with guardian of enchantment
A well timed reawaken can make runs smoother and even give the team some breathing space

other characters have freezeframes/ in pve it could honestly improve adds dps timers specially for DB or MP it could help improve rotations

Or just give add the normal bead awakening and make the dp bar a special gauge and not a "special gauge"

Adrestia really loves this change. I’ve been enjoying her more because of it. And it’s pretty clutch, like saving your party from a wipe with goss title. 10/10 Glad it came.

I mean that wouldn’t lose his uniqueness it would just make it easier for DMP management to be able to unawaken -> reawaken without waiting 5 sec every time

considering most classes have more iron body commands then the entirety of add as a character all 4 classes and the fact that the iframe on his awakening is legit like less then a second or just a second at most is laughable at best. as for the deal damage around him sure but that also takes DP a rare resource that depending on class can make or break a win. if we are going based of just pvp alone add would be fine they could honestly nerf the damage down from his awakening if that's such a worry which imo it isnt as it has a cost associated with it nor is the damage all that massive

there is a reason DP combos are dead/ a waste of dp and it would be no different for awakening

spamming awakening would be a waste specially for any add worth their salt to do anything with competitive wise as for pve there is zero issue there, none in fact it would be better for adds' as a whole

lets not forget that adds awakening has no freeze frame on it while everyone just got the biggest free catch against any add from this update alone

personally i think if my change did happen it would put an even higher skill ceiling on add as a character

also going to add that if you do hit someone with the basic awakening from add it uses the awakening cost plus a base amount if you hit someone with it you still lose quiet the amount weather it catches or not

with enough time/skill honestly it can be punished rather then a boon

The one hit single hitstun was made to be a combo extender back when commands and skills were the main way of dealing damage in pvp now

I do remember mpx being able to weakly use NAC commands outside of awakening by consuming dmp ... Maybe I'm mixing that with normal awaking shenanigans lel

Which is realistically a method that was used to make the awakening usage worse overall, Less iframes, Hitbox doesn't appear until after the dp activation period (which is when the iframe ends, funny that) the dp usage on commands and the awakening hit itself also increases pass transcendence for no reason

On top of the dp recovery from skill usages reducing based on your overall mp cost

However This is about the awakening for now. The difference to base adds awakening and transcendence awakening (which has been present since the release of transcendence which does indeed affect every other character in a more positive way) Is base add's awakening hitbox appears 3 frames before the dp activation period, and lingers 5 more frames after the fact. Transcendence awakening however has the hitbox appear 2 frames after dp activation and then lingers for 2 more frames after it (Which is 1 frame after the activation period) Where's everyone else who reaches transcendence got a 0.15 second increase to freeze time (chung and ara had a 0.42 at one point, I say had because i'm not sure if it's still present since last time i checked was 6 months ago)

And no Action speed makes no difference to when the hitbox appears, We have a tittle that reduces action speed by 20 or 32% was it? and you can easily equip this on a maxed base add and any other add who is pass transcendence, and nothing changes

In fact making it a proper special gauge also allows for better individual dp usage balancing for all adds alike, As MaP is the only one who uses DP for all of his skills but dp cost was gutted to no end because of him alone since easily building 40% dp cost to use all his skills at 40% cost reduction was obviously really dumb

As it stands the dp bar itself is being proven time and time again to be an unnecessary mechanic, "it has a hitbox" so does laby's and she uses the bead system" "he can activate his awakening when ever he wants" So can everyone else now "He can use commands with his dp" The damage they deal is far weaker then just using normal commands while awakened, "He can use skills with his dp" DB can use a single skill with dp and MaP can use all his skills with DP something that MaP is only excelling at

the DP bar and DMP were all about skill augmentation something which has been completely forgotten about since while out of dp you lose the awakening damage buff making the use of skills out of dp mode insanely pointless, Not to mention all add's still use dp for skills even in awakening be it 20% of the original dp cost (besides MaP and that one skill from DB) where's before it was "use 0 dp while in dp mode" And See how i mention his awakening as dp mode and not just say his awakening? because it's completely different

And if the dp bar was such a good idea Kog would of reused the concept.. Oh wait they did, Just never as the awakening system

the dp bar is not an awakening but was built around it so you're left managing your dp and dmp which are both 2 forms of damage where if the dp bar was apart from the awakening then skill augmentation would actually have use or effectiveness, Though Kog stopped caring about the skill augmentation to where only DB has it with a couple skills

The dp system is frankly buggy, messy, outdated and forgotten about Since all it needs to do is serve the purpose of an awakening. Something the bead system is far better at

the system itself is alright my only issue with it is that 5 seconds cooldown is absolute dog for rotations for pve and as for pvp honestly dead content however to be fair he has no freezeframe and it could add a skill ceiling to add i dont want them to change anything about his awakening nor his systems just that they remove the cooldown on it

Idk, I heavily disagree with the idea of giving Add a normal bead awakening. People were already upset about Luciel combo points being changed and I can say that I would be upset too if they changed Add’s awakening

Once you remove the 5 second cooldown then you're just better off removing the whole activation animation and hitbox at that point, both of which can be done if you make the dp bar a proper special gauge and give him the bead system

At that point it would be no different to that of Elsword vitality and destruction mode switching

reawakening on laby is still lacking since u have overfill the bar for it to trigger like before the patch.
would prefer it if the awakening key could actually interact with title awakening effects, so that we can do title rotation without onions.

Laby gains awakening quicker then most if not all the characters, a single Kah-pow punch has me awaken 2 times in a single cast

her base awakening duration is about 30sec, so one would hope she charges at semi-fast rate, but that wasn't my point

No it doesn't need that change the way it functions now is still good and honestly the only change it needs is the 5 second removal. It already imo is a good special system and can be controlled which gives a higher skill ceiling. You yourself would compare it to the red head system which is another reason why that change is not needed. Keep the system the same there is zero reason to change it other then the long cooldown.

And controlling your own awakening is also just really dumb... the whole point of the awakening is to increase your damage... Why would you ever want to turn that damage buff off..? Everyone else can now re-awaken so i really don't see how it's a good system still?

The dp system is like if you tied Elsword's Vitality and destruction mode behind his awakening and only allowed him to switch the modes if he is awakened, Or if Luciel could gain and use comp points when only awakened. Or if characters used 2 or 3 seconds of their awakening duration each time they used a skill.

That is basically the dp system. Too much is tied to his awakening, despite there being no reason to be out of awakening. We get out of our "awakening" to go back into it to gain dmp... That's it. We even had most of our dmp passives removed, not to mention there being very few methods of gaining dmp outside of just activating dp mode again.

Skill ceilings for both DB and MP would improve only two adds that the awakening could honestly be still alright with is the two adds were dp doesn't need to be turned on and off. His system is alright because it's what makes him unique from other characters. His awakening is a light switch on and off on your demand. Which in pvp can be the difference between being caught or not and for pve it just depends on the add you're playing. And adds a certain playstyle that only add as a character get to play/enjoy it with. It's a song and dance which no matter what add I play because I main them all doesn't get boring. Keeps game play feeling different then just skill spam despite that being a majority of the game play.

Honestly just waiting to see what they do with all adds in the next kr patch as DB is still dog right now MP is alright DoM is still a solo monster and OM is just a support bot

Also the issue when it comes to rotations is DB before he does anything has to full burst into psy storm. Full burst is 2 beads and storm is 3 leaving you with 1 bead and sadly the by the time you're done casting both you still have 2 seconds on the clock to reawaken you can bypass this weakness through using dissolver to gain two points but you'd lose a bit of dp to continue your rotations into super. Which has to happen every 30 seconds cause storm has a crap uptime. Majority of DBs rotations are faster then his 5 second cooldown and even when they added stasis field to the mix as a damage dealer it still doesn't fix his issue of sometimes being faster then that 5 sec cooldown. Mpx rotations would improve or be less reliant on having a CL in the party to go full ham as it is faster to reawaken then it is to press mind break as long as you up keep that debuff mind you.

Prob just a skill and pc diff but my fps makes it really hard to utilize the awakening system on Add. Sometimes when I try to reawaken, I can't tell if I'm in awakening again due to fps lag. And also if I try to spam the awakening key I might exit awakening right after and having to face a 5 sec cd before I can awaken again. I'm not an Add main but I dabble, just wanted to share the awkwardness regarding his system that I felt.

Yea to get around this, you just stop using storm and full burst with dmp and instead use them at 0 dmp, that way the 3 x 2 dmp can go straight into super sonic and Conq. Using dmp for full burst only increases duration but it has a base duration of 20-25 seconds so it's not something to worry about since you'll basically be using it all the time anyway. Sadly Psychic storm is losing out but ehh it's really just a speed boost.

Also nah always do awakened storm way better in the long run the longer the dungeon the more damage loss

Hell dissolver is a better solution as sure you lose dp but in pve with many options like SD title, plus if you get hit it'll give dp back its manageable

Dissolver only gives 2 dmp back and you use dp, you can use it out of dp mode to gain dp but that's just a waste of time
