Yes
Again there are some exceptions but S is mainly for those who use Summons. There is one Rose that does use a summon but it's your fault if you allow her to summon that particular unit.

Alot of characters in this game can be summed up to just "To beat them you have to not get hit."
Which sounds ridiculous but overtime you get used to it.
But not just with classes. Eventually its easy to find yourself in a position where your gear just isn't good enough to stop someone from acquiring their win condition if they tank you. (Because the game is dumb and we can farm for titles that let you tank combos.)
Duelist pieces being +9 kinda sucks but if ur weapon is good then its still fine.
You just wont have that much HP.

Maybe, but tbh theres alot of ways to get around setplay that doesn't involve dmg. Since most setplay only works really well when the other side doesn't have a lot of buttons to press or is in a situation where they don't want to press buttons.
Which is why you still wanna increase ur gear eventually.
The more gear you have the less reasonable it is for the other person to tank a few extra hits everytime you touch them.
Its why the games start being a bit masochistic because it turns into less of setplay and more of repetitive restarts of neutral based around both sides having mp. Which is horrible to deal with in 1s.
Since if the other side has damage you can basically lose half a minute of work being caught once.

in terms of CA vs Proph. both are oppressive as a char to fight.
In terms of approaching,
CA is somewhat more bearable vs Prop due to not having a lot of lingering hitboxes & hitstuns. CA may have a lot of Stoic, but can be punished without the worry of lingering hitboxes and multi hitstun on some of her neutrals.
Prop has a good chunk of safe commands, especially her middair loop that converts to a super armor dive that has a Knock-up follow up, punishing you if you can't time your approach or Super armor skill your way to her. But benefit of the doubt, a Ranged character with a lot of middair coverage can mess her up, ain may have some tricks too, but that's a mixed bag.
Range can have a advantage against both, but if you're Melee? You're in for a bad time. based on your approaches, both will stick with the middair loops but it seems that Proph is just harder to deal with unless you got a wide and long range skill that got middair usability. If you're melee with no middair float, or inconsistent floating? You're done for.
both got skills with homing, but "Takeoff" seems to be more useable and cheaper than "Rabbit". Rabbit may last longer, and linger more, but Takeoff's linger is around the 4-6 second mark and can come back and hit you, regardless of awakening-style evasion or trading special actives.
and since Takeoff is used quite much(it is a optimal choice) the pressure is there, and it's a factor to worry about when fighting proph.
also proph's commands are stronk and don't really have knockback, her XX for example can be looped on the edge and gives next to no MP for getting hit. add in the sticky ink combination, and your in for a bad time.
CA hurts, make no mistake, but she doesn't seem to have that same privileges . THOOOUUUGH, I believe she can do some KD Reduction with her >>^X Z(or her Stomp knockup) via XXXX>>^X <>X
