hello, I logged into WoW today and all of my synced addons were wiped/reset to a previous version, maybe 2 years ago. is there a way to get my addon settings back? I think curseforge bugged bc I was trying to DOWNLOAD my profile to my old laptop, but I kept getting errors. Later, I logged into my main PC and noticed my saved addon settings were entirely wiped and reverted to the addon settings. I did NOT select upload on the laptop, and again, the sync errors anyway. Hi so I have an issue with the app's Minecraft things. the problem is with the app itself so I think that this is the correct channel.
Yesterday the app started asking me to login to a Microsoft account, and stops me from playing without logging in. so far normal. it obviously wants me to connect to the account that has Minecraft linked
the issue is that I have 2 Microsoft accounts. the the one that I use day-to-day, and a different one that is linked to Minecraft. And the button just take the default without any way to change that.
How do I login in forge without changing accounts in the OS?

Microsoft login issues with the CurseForge App

If you own a Minecraft account, but trying to log in using the CurseForge app is not working, try these things:
If at any step it suddenly works, you do not need to continue with the rest.

1. Check your internet connection and try again. You can try opening some tabs in your browser or other tests to make sure you are online.
2. Restart the CurseForge App and try again.
3. Verify that the account login information is actually correct, no wrong email, typo, etc, then try again. If you don't remember your credentials, contact Microsoft Support. CurseForge has nothing to do with it.

🔹 If none of these methods worked, do this:

1. Click the in the bottom left corner of the App.
2. Select Minecraft.
3. Change the launch option from CurseForge App to Mojang Launcher.

This will change how the game launches and instead of requiring you to log in via the App it will open a copy of the Mojang Launcher.

I deleted all Java 17 and Java 8 versions and kept only Java 21. I want to run Java 21 to gain a bit more FPS. After changing many settings, my Minecraft always runs on Java 17 when playing the modpack Cisco Fantasy Medieval Dragonfyre on CurseForge.

Can someone help me understand why? Why does it always run on Java 17 even though I manually forced it to use Java 21? I don't even have Java 17 installed anymore. Whether I create a single-player world or join a server and port-forward using Playit, it still always runs on Java 17.

personally i had all my curseforge stuff moved to a different drive other that my C: drive. I went to curse forge settings and changed them back then cleared some space on my original C drive for whatever reason and it fixed it. You might not have to clear stuff off the C drive like me tho

What could be causing the modpack to crash, i've done 3 things to the base "Dark Mage" modpack, updated its mods and added some mods like minimap, Jade, Vein mine some minor ones, some of them are on version 1.20.1 +1 which might also be the issue, it crashes only when it loads something, i'm not sure what and the crash report isn't all that helpful.

If you own a Minecraft account, but trying to log in using the CurseForge app is not working, try these things:
If at any step it suddenly works, you do not need to continue with the rest.

1. Check your internet connection and try again. You can try opening some tabs in your browser or other tests to make sure you are online.
2. Restart the CurseForge App and try again.

ram is active memory, ram does not process. CPU is what processes, and the game only loads and runs on one CPU core - with the exception of worldgen when you're generating new chunks

You still need to use something that supports the curseforge modpack zip format. As none of the mod jars are actually in the zip, they are listed in the manifest file.

Meaning unless the mod ia from CurseForge OR on the 3rd party list, you cannot include them in the modpack uploaded to CF

🔹 If none of these methods worked, do this:

1. Click the in the bottom left corner of the App.
2. Select Minecraft.
3. Change the launch option from CurseForge App to Mojang Launcher.

This will change how the game launches and instead of requiring you to log in via the App it will open a copy of the Mojang Launcher.

How to install mods in the CurseForge App

1. Click + Create Custom Profile
2. Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the modloader & modloader version (usually the highest number), click Create.
3. Click the profile icon.
4. Click Add More Content
5. Search and install the desired mods.
6. Start the game!

How to install mods that are not on the CurseForge app

1. Right click the profile picture or Open the profile and click the Icon next to the play button.
2. Click Open Folder.
3. Drag the mod(s) into the mods folder. (Note: Some mods will require others, to run. Make sure to read the instructions for the mod!)
4. Start the game!

As far as I can tell the malicious project is removed. IF there ever was a malicious project, they didn't give the name of this modpack which I find suspicious

We had a lot of people do misinformation about CurseForge infecting their computers which got disproven, so I am quite skeptical.
