Okay, I don't know how to explain this, but I was having problems opening all of my mod packs, I fixed it, but it got rid of all my mod packs. I used to have an account with a few mod packs, and I'm back on that. I have no way to get to my old ones, but I still have the files for one of my old mod packs and worlds that I want. I'm confused about how to get my mod pack back and how to get my world back.
(my friend and I have a world and they had reached out to support for the same problem I did, I don't have optifine in my files, here is the screenshot of the report that they have sent in also.)

your fix was probably changing the folder path that the app stores profiles. you can copy the profile folders from the old location to the new location and the app will see them

Then there was no reason to log into the CF app itself. Just either the minecraft login in the upper right (skip the launcher feature) OR the minecaft launcher (Mojang launcher feature)

From the sounds of it the app may have changed its Minecraft modded profile path, this can happen if the current path has issues. Easy fix tho if you know where the original Curseforge folder is

Your safe to reinstall the cf app itself. The minecraft profiles are saved in a different location then the app itself.

If your playing on a server, your players data is saved on the server, only thing that would be client side would be things like minimap data, keybinds, client settings.

i just made some tests, and found out that theres some mods that may cause visual glitches when together... basically minecraft blocks, especially dirt, will get small white dots when seeing on the dark, i dont get this problem with some modpacks, but i made a custom one and i got this.

How to get started with shaders

Usually this is when trying to join a server but can also happen because of mods trying to contact services.

has there been any reports of curseforge getting hacked again? a friend sent us a modpack that only used mods from curseforge but windows defender is flagging that and its never happened before with curseforge zip files

No news on that, but I have seen a couple instances of Windows defender being extra special. There was a major security update a week or so ago on Microsofts end.

I would highly recommend opening a ticket with CF and providing your pack zip, a screen shot of the av trigger, as well as the link windows defender provides about the trigger.

That's normal, MC throuch CF doesn't touch anything outside of it, meaning any worlds you have in the .minecraft folder are not used at all

When I use the 'sh run.sh' command it shows up with

How to tackle Network Issues

Two ways to share a modpack you made with others

:small_orange_diamond: Export and Share - For Friends / Small Groups

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack.

:small_blue_diamond: Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone

This option will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to create a new project
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project that you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations and !status to learn about the moderation process and how long it will take to approve/decline)

Ok, so I was playing modded minecraft and watching a youtube video, but the audio kept being weird, so i exited both and went to open it again like i usually do which is, going through cf, clicking play, and then usually i would already be signed in, but it wasnt letting me sign in at all, so i uninstalled minecraft and curseforge, then reinstalled both, did this a few times bc it wasnt working, bc every time i go to redownload the mod i had it says it wasn't found, or another error pops up, and I'm not sure what to do. I don't know is this helps but there was this minecraft.exe that i did delete bc thats what it was running it through and it wasn't working, but you'd think reinstalling minecraft would work bc it redownloads the launcher, but now the mod just wont redownload

this was the specific mod i was trying to download and even so, i tried downloading other mods too and it just wont work

And now my vanilla minecraft wont log in😭 is weather a factor in this?

You made the modpack from scratch. You didnt download a pre-made modpack made by someone else

The you have to make a whole new custom profile if you want to change minecraft versions. As mods are made for specific mc versions, you cant mix and match mods from one minecraft version to another.

You can attempt to move worlds, but be sure to keep a backup as code changes occur between mc versions, which can cause things to break
