Well we don't really have a choice in the first place. It is what it is.

They should put these kind of systems as options. So people can choose what they like.

But that's extra work, so I doubt they will.

There could be a multitude of reasons why they don't, if it was that easy they would do it. The more freedom there is in a software, the harder it is to maintain, work on and update. It all comes down to time/profit ratio.

Premium mods, for example. They gain money directly from it.

I'm not familiar with the CF devs, how are they?

The premium mods are for ark devs to get something back from cf for their work, its their version of the rewards program the other games have access too. Ark is special as its mod downloads are in game vs in the cf app.

Could switch back to the normal launcher, since skip the launcher is still a beta feature some bugs may still come up.

Could also send your cf logs either here or in a ticket as well. That way they can find their way to the appropriate cf team too look into

Like my end goal I want to do is add Minecraft in general to Steam's "Non Steam Game" section and I know CurseForge uses copy's of the original launcher files and won't work. And I can't add the vanilla launcher to Steam since my data I use is on CurseForge. I want to find a way to transfer it to the Vanilla launcher without overwriting the vanilla data. Kinda like making a second installation of the vanilla and using that for the CurseForge data

I'm having the same problem; even after multiple attempts to log in to Microsoft Minecraft on Curseforge with correct credentials, it doesn't seem to go away. I've tried reinstalling both the Curse-forge and Microsoft Minecraft launcher, as well as possibly deleting the data and cache from the files, but to no avail. I'm still at a loss for a solution.

Hi there, I am using the standalone curseforge windows client version 1.250.3.17797 and it's not displaying all games (even after a full scan). On the website I see a lot more games and when I try to install a mod from the website it's saying that the game was not found or not supported by the application. Is there a reason that my profiles just break after a few days? No updates, I always test after adding a mod to see if it'll work with the others in the profile, and my java/drivers are up to date. But after a couple days of perfectly smooth playing, the profile will just Break, and throw a java error that I can't reverse.

I am a linux user, trying to port Curse Forge to my distribution (based on the AppImage, which runtime dependencies provided). I noticed that on the download page only link provided points to the latest version. However this mean that the build is not reproducible as update may break the package. Is there a way to retrieve any specific archive given it's version?

Three different ways to fix it:

1. Try a repair installation. Write !mc-installfix for instructions.

2. Close the app and launcher, and do the !ipv6 and !dns instructions. It's recommend to flush the DNS cache after changing it:

3. Open the URL of the crash and download the file in the mentioned path manually. (If the path don't exist, create it). And do it for every different missing files until everything is downloaded - more of the time you only need to do it a few times.
