I was playing and I got a POI mark from a salvage ship after I asked if they'd seen any around. They marked it on my map for me and I kept diving after to collect since I wasn't that far into a run. The Sicilian Mafia showed up and I asked them if they needed help since I want to get a bounty license, and they gave me a POI to rendezvous with them. When I went into my Astrogator tab to look the salvage marker had been replaced by the new one I think, I hadn't gone to the salvage area and it was decently far away so I couldn't have accidentally moved there.
#[0.623.5] POI disappeared after getting a second one.

Here's my logs, I finished the dive that the issue happened in and did another, I hope that doesn't mess anything up.
as long as you didn’t close the game they should be good 👍
did you have an astrogator on board?
hm
according to your logs, during the conversation with a salvage ship you got this response:
Leave the salvage ops to licenced specialists.
That doesn't come with a location.
Could you please verify your report?
Yeah sorry those logs were from my laptop not my desktop, I did a dumb when sending that log. Here's the correct one from it.
I think it's around this time in the log, unless that's another salvager but it says READING_HERE_NO_TIME like I remember. [0.623.5]: [2023/05/04 13:24:31] under dv_log_0.txt.
Also this bugs me but I don't know if it can be fixed, in the logs it says "speficic", is that a kind of task or is that meant to be "specific"?
thanks, I'll look at it first thing in the morning

Hm, so your save contains 3 destintation that are expired at:
2273-10-04
2273-11-07
2273-09-29
The current date is 2273-11-18, so it's normal that you don't see any. But you say that you got these while on your dive, you didn't come back to Enceladus after you got them?
I got the salvage one and then on the same dive got a merc patrol. When I checked the nav screen after getting the merc patrol the salvage POI was gone.
The salvage said 30 days or so before it expired and the merc patrol said 7 or so

Here is what happened. You just flew near that derelict without astrogating to it.
I went back to Enchilada station and did a second dive after to do the patrol since I still had it but not the salvage one.
Ah okay. My bad then I didn't know they could spawn that super close to you.
that was BLT-9040
Wasn't that the ship that the salvagers were grabbing?
Since they spawn near one sometimes.
I don't remember seeing any other ship transponder or ok LIDAR besides the one the salvagers were grabbing
Could they have POI the ship they were grabbing?
let me see
Because by the log it was 30 seconds between me getting the POI and it getting removed
they were after BLT-5254
Weird
Did it just spawn the POI super close to me and immediately trigger then? It was 30 seconds between getting the POI and it getting removed
If so I guess this was user error and I apologize for wasting your time. I didn't realize the POIs could spawn so close as to trigger right away.
no no, that's a good thing to look into
in your logs I see two derelict ships fairly close to one-another: about 600m apart.
thats give or take, I don't have a precise coordinate of the ship spawn, just the location spawner looked for, which might be altered by collisions and other factors.
seems that it happened that their intended target was near a ship they were going for anyway
they will, however, pick up any derelict they see.
That's probably what did it, I just never saw the other salvage on Pilot or Lidar so maybe I just missed how close it spawned or confused it. Maybe a minimum range on those POI events would help with stuff like that because it feels a bit hmm that it can spawn so close and immediately trigger and make you think it got lost.
