In my experience the only cases where buffles will let the stuff back out is, if it's outside the buffles in the first place.
On most ships there is a portion of the "neck" in front of the buffles, not coverd/invisible on the micro-seismic scanner screen. It can fit a few (like three-ish) chunks, that are un-buffled and will fly out.
Although thinking about it - i'm not sure if i ever run the Pelican with buffles. By the time i get one it's usually far into the MPU range.
I'm gonna try.
And it has wider hold than the regular Eagle, so assuming the buffles are the same size, it actually sounds like something that could happen

I tried it and yes, i can very consistently make ore drop back out through the baffles.
