lmao
There goes my strategy of rush, superheavy, and rend axe til it dies
Still unhappy with fusionbleed
Might make heat the innate part and adding the damage the on crit
But that may be worse
new fusionbleed?
i think
i like these
for now
also exploit weakness change
again
also i think i like this
maybe
But infinite shuriken loop would be so funny
too funny alas
Mechanic so silly they execute it

I swear I keep somehow not having the latest KTB
lmao dependences
Alright, Initial, Totally Comprehensive Impressions Time that I will post as I go (All of it with a grain of salt, you have final say on things and I haven't been a part of the playtest. Obviously):
GMS
-# M/K2: I do feel like this would be very fun to play but it feels far more specialized than what GMS is typically going for, but considering I had the same issue designing my own GMS frame I cannot really say that's not a given for 3rd party GMS frames now. I like it, maybe it could be statted slower and bulkier? It feels like a bulky frame.
-# .
IPS-N
-# Grutte Pier: I'm not going to mention it every time, but props to Pishly, these renders feel the closest to official styles the most of any pack I have seen. I am assuming the increase overshield works like the Emperor's stackable shield? I don't think anybody would be confused but I am a giant stickler for "complete transparency" on that stuff cause no creator likes having rules interpreted wrong and impressions soured by that. I really like the Zwarte Passive, though it may cause some analysis paralysis, that's not the frames fault exactly. I think its heat could be made higher what with both of drakes weapons being heat giving and not wanting to make you often spend charges on clearing heat with the hoop but I am not confident in saying what other stat would be toned back (though honestly I don't think it would over-stat it. Maybe even HP or an armor point cause it already has a decently versatile resistance).
-# .
-# Gloire: This one feels over-tuned compared to the Tortuga. It has strong mobility, an extra mount, free action rams (I have been informed this is an old feature, I stand by the strength assessment but it is lessened) for additional accuracy to replace Tuga's accuracy trait, and negates the semi-weakness of DSAS with the +2 range (also its a stickler thing again but should probably state the +2 range doesn't affect cone or line weapons since there are examples of those archetypes having range, and its not immediately obvious what a Daisy cutter with +2 Range looks like, unless you intended that in which case that's alright). I'm not sure if I would suggest leaning further into the removal of Tuga's side strengths like giving it 5 sensors and -2 to tech or removing a main mount. But this thing is damn good on a license already punching above its weight often.
-# .
-# Fitzgerald License:
-# Frame: So a big question I ask with homebrew stuff often is "would you put other licenses stuff on this" and I just don't see it here. It wants main line cannons which do not exist outside of its own license. Even opening it up to just main cannons, that is the mortar (which already ignores line of sight) and assault cannon. Otherwise you have the Magnetic cannon, actually a good fit for it, except that the ignoring cover trait makes it so often you will just hit people and drag them into the cover they were just behind (Autogun, Slag cannon, and Vorpal Gun are all edge cases that don't really function with these traits anyways with its low SP and lower mount space). This is all to synergize with its integrated weapon, which is good, but kind of flattens build space and will just make you fire it every turn since its your best option which a lot of integrated weapon frames fall into the trap of doing, it evens knocks things prone for the trait synergy hat trick. I do not see the point of the self knockback, if you could maybe choose the direction that would be a neat little boon to set up a subsequent line attack trajectory, but for now it just remains a lil' quirk of it. It sort of cannibalizes its own modularity sue to wanting such specific things and already being printed with exactly what it wants, but I do like the idea of consecutive damage and making cannons more destructive in cramped spaces.
-# B-LSG: I really want to say this thing is powercreep, but the only real comparison is the Rail Rifle and that has Crackshot in its corner so... Plus it has half bonus damage, a fun loading mechanic, and reliable on AoE is always a good splash of strength. Yeah I think this is a clean design. I don't think it needs Heat 3 on Grapeshot with being unloaded, I think it could be Heat 2.
The gloire +2 range is not meant to work with Daisy cutter, just decksweeper or whatever other cqb
Alrighty, as I said that probably won't really confuse anybody but I have had some far-edge cases be brought up to me in some of my stuff so I know people can go spelunking for that sometimes.
Also the overshield only stacks if it says Increases
I do not believe it currently says that but I could be misremembering
Fitz not having a ton of alternatives is an issue I fully agree with
It is meant to work with any line weapons but there are only like 5
Also you can tell I hate the cannon talents
Btw it looks like your looking at the non test lcp, gloire no longer gets a free action ram
The test one has all the balance changes that are coming in v2
Okay. I will make sure to use that one moving forward. does it still get the ram on Core Passive QA?
It had 2 heat in the original. But its now a combo boost and ram without juggernaut synergy which isn't egregious.
-# Gosh I always feel like a right prick critiquing others lcps cause I know the minimum effort a project like this takes.
Nah I enjoy this
I want to see people who actually have opinions on balance
Don't hurt my feelings any
Can't be good if I can't see when it's bad
I imagine I cannot be worse than your playtesters.
back to it.
-# HEAER: Sick. You should be allowed to activate this with Melee. It will cause no issues
-# Ripper Mod: I don't see how this doesn't just make certain weapons just better AP. Nearly half the NPCs have at least 1 armor, and this is on average going to be able to overcome even 3. I think its inverse could be very fun though, lose AP and you gain some damage against unarmored or shredded targets. Which also synergizes with the B-LSGs grapeshot.
-# HB Thrusters: 5 AP seems like a ton, but that is something that I would need to play with to feel if its OP. If it cleared its checks in your playtesting I got no issues, it may lose some viability big time in tier 2 though, which again, is a "I would have to play with it" piece of conjecture.
-# Rapier CC: I get the feeling this is just better than the B-LSG. It trades off a respectable reliable 2 for what is practically accurate and AP with a heat cost. It clashes with its own sibling. Either the whole Fitz is reworked to have a heavy mount and this is combined with the Bizarre into a new Heavy cannon (something I did to all of my integrated weapon mechs to give them some breathing room) or it should be reworked into a limited system that gives you another way of doing line attacks, like the spear charges from Gilg with direct damage. this is my biggest overreach yet in suggestions which I apologize for but I had this exact issue with my Richard license on "integrated weapon bottlenecking the license."
I think giving it limited or cutting down on the damage may fix it
I want it to be a little better than blsg but not TOO much better
Dropping the 1d6+2 to a +1 or even a flat d6 is most likely
As for ripper mod, it's
Complicated, see it removes so so attacking into a pyro could net a negative amount of damage
Additionally it does NOTHING into about half of all ememies
Unless you magnets them
Also rapier might get a range nerf
-# Hazard:
-# Frame: I am surprised this is size 1 looking at it It's rather simple which is nice, mixes in well with a lot of the focused designs in here for IPS-N, but in that its pretty damn strong. It's really damn comparable to the Everest and is actually tankier with only 1 less speed and a buff to its average damage alongside distributed overshield. Now Initiative is still so damn good I won't say the Hazard is generically better, and I have made it clear in my own work I have no issues with stuff being worth its weight in stats. I like striker/supports and there is a lot of adjacency matters stuff in Lancer that goes overlooked which work well with it.
-# WGL: I really like keyword only weapons. I have no major notes other than limited 4 feels like its approaching "it really won't matter a ton" range on limited, but that's not exactly a huge issue.
-# Emergency Armature: This doesn't feel like it needs 1/Scene. Even being LL1 and putting it on an Engineering heavy frames feels like it wouldn't be ridiculous outside of One-Shots which. Well are always kind of hard to balance. Plus you need to pump a lot into engineering which reduces hull. I think it could have one of its limitations downsized. My ideas if it was my creation would be either making it 1/Round, removing limited, or making it 1 SP.
-# Panic Breaker: That's a neat take on a basic weapon design. Having 66% of the damage always happen feels like a lot but it is heavy and range 3 which makes me almost feel like its actually underpowered, especially with Cannon weapons not having heavy hitting talents like Heavy Melees or CQB which are the two most comparable classes to this thing. I am not sure how to buff it but it feels like it could use even more punch, or be a cone 3 or something with reliable 3. I'm not sure.
-# .
-# Statistical Compensator: This feels like another "you had to be there for the playtest" thing. But I really feel like this could just, increase Reliable by 2.
-# HRR-Senschal: Feels funky to have the main weapon and not the heavy be the LL3 but I can't really disagree.
-# Brigid-Class NHP: This doesn't need Limited 3. It's already 1/Scene and a fourth usage of this isn't breaking any backs. It seems strange to have a sub 3 SP NHP but its effect is probably closer to 2 SP with the AI tax. I almost want to say to buff it a bunch and make it 3 SP just to bring it in line but I also get annoyed when feedback is just "you need to bring it in line with the standard way its done" like with the 5 SSC Speed or 6 HP 1/2 frames so I will leave it be.
SSC
-# Black Mountain: Yknow, For being an alt to a very impactful mech I don't have much to say on this one. I think its a serviceable frame that provides an alternate style to the Emperor sure but I don't like just going "cool" or "I like it" to things unless that says more than I would otherwise be able to. Exalt doesn't need a limit per round, it just complicates its UI. Unless you have a 5 person party all within sensors and all structuring an enemy, the limit both won't ever come up and anything beyond that is win more anyways cause 4 enemies just assumedly died. I would say something about how DOOMED is not necessary and it could just say "choose a hostile character... for the rest of the scene..." but that's just being a dick. It's not an actually added keyword or something its just for fun, and this is a game, and games are supposed to be fun.
-# Maiden's Blush: I agree with Sigo thing is pretty nutty. It's stats aren't even all that great but it trades the MCs easy damage for some powerful control and defense tools which it really lacked. The GM has to also constantly play around your Core Active to not accidentally let you cheat out a weaker Metalmark Active every scene, which I actually like as a lil' minigame but it is very strong if you can get at least 2-3 enemies early on with it. Abjuration feels like it will just kind of loop with Fade Strike, become invisible, get missed, teleport, or get missed normally, become invisible, crit with dagger, become invisible, get missed... I think Uncertainty field could go away once you get hit, similar to Flicker Field. I do think it could use 1 more heat cap or 10 E-Defense. It's nothing special stats wise outside of Save Target which it only uses with its core power unless you spec into other licenses but at LL2-3 its not doing much for it.
save target applies to rend
Fair enough I didn't catch that. I still hesitate to have it be so low on heat since it will have its HASE rather spread between wanting to be missed, making up for hits, tech attacks just cutting through it, and systems because. Well I don't know the MC has an invade package. Maybe I have had enough bad luck on invisibility I don't evaluate it properly unless its semi-permanent for the round but it seems like a planned flaw.
so what could make the maidens blush, less
over powered
maybe invis breaking on hit would do it
Honestly? I think either Uncertainty field going away when you get hit, not on damage but hit with a weapon attack to be safe from reliable cause thats on like 1/3 of the damn damage NPCs I swear and assisting its tech weakness or Rend either acting as a lesser Fragment by Impairing and Slowing to give it more incentive to play footsies or making you choose between Impaired or Immobilized since one or the other will be obvious better choice depending on the situation but it will still provide the GM options to play around it with a majority of the NPCs. Heck, if I wanted to go a little out there with it I would have it blind them (line of sight to adjacent only) so they would have to either move closer and get Variable-Bladed if they want to attack you again or retreat and focus on using non-offensive traits. Puts it more in line with MCs mechanical semi-identity of "obstructing vision."
I don't think its ridiculous, just offers not a ton of non-hard counterplay to its strategy.
there are only 3 reliable npcs
gonna do go away on taking damage and impaired and slowed
gonna give it a heat cap
also lemme see what i can do to nerf gliore
sensors 8 maybe
I think placing the seneschal at LL3 is a good choice.
Generally I think the most appealing and broad application equipment should be LL3 or LL2 so that weighing your License choices is more impactful, and I think the Seneschal has suuuper broad and good applications while the Panic Breaker doesn't.
I have, on multiple occasions gone "fuck I would love to use the seneschal for this but that's mad expensive" and call me crazy but I think that's good design. I like having stuff where it's a choice of hard commitment.
The Mitscher from Iphigenia at Midnight does this and I'm not entirely sure it's justified but I think it's somewhat at least, as the main at ll3 has smart, seeking, and choice of damage type.
Bela I would be interested to hear how Statistical Compensator testing was as well, I kinda have Logez's same thoughts on it
it was good? people used it a bunch
not busted but it let them spend resources to get guaranteed kills on scouts and witches and the like
Yeah I agreed with it at 3, opportunity cost and splashability is a huge but kind of subtle part of lancer balance (DSAS and _OS1) . Apologies if that didn't come across as I was a tad vague in the wording of "but I can't disagree." It's just not often I see weapon sizes go down on LL3 and it peaked my interest enough to vocalize those thoughts.
My thoughts is mainly that it honestly isn't a huge difference between always having Reliable 2 and needing Reliable 2 for 3-5 shots to truly affect the board state. Plus, I wasn't there but I imagine spending a charge on it and then hitting into rolling above the reliable feels goddamn awful and that kind of "swing and a miss" design is better on talents which are more broadly allowed to vary in usability from action to action.
-# Purple Thorn:
-# Frame: I think you should give it 2 Flex mounts just to tempt people to invalidate itself. Being semi-more serious now, I think its Core Active shouldn't be a save in some fashion. I feel like with how many attacks it makes it would really bog down the pace of not just the turn but multiple turns factoring in reaction attacks both with overwatch and its core passive by having "pause, rolling the save" be said like 3 times a turn sometimes. Maybe it being only for one scene will make it not be tedious, and removing the save portion of it may be hard to balance, gut reactions only here. I think Blessed Bolt can just be 1/Round when you hit with an aux +3 damage, it's not a huge buff and it will still be lower damage on average.
-# I genuinely think it needs a third mount. Both to avoid Superheavy mounting shenanigans (always good if not just to avoid people who think they are being far more clever than they are...) but because the auxiliary weapons on the license but also typically accessible to it at lower levels when frame balance matters the hardest pigeon hole it into either having a "long range mount" and "short range mount" or hard spec'ing into one of those which cuts its variability hard, arguably what should be the biggest strength of a small arms focused frame. I'm not even suggesting a Main/Aux, but a third Flex or more likely Aux/Aux opens up a ton of space on the build to let you mix and match your range focus or strength in variety.
-# .
-# As of right now its current mounts will make it so you sort of always just go for 2 blink bolt launchers, light Nexuses if you don't want to spend the SP, or two missile racks to work with shredders loading. Your other mount is probably shredder most of the time because it is a solid weapon and its on the license so might as well. With a third mount you can either double down on loading, or include some close range options, maybe hunter, or hell just go 4 blink bolt launchers because you still sometimes think fondly about the Oracle-LMG. It is a weirdo aux striker/controller/semi-support/setup mech. A third mount massively increases its ability to function as that variety glue of the team, filling niches and picking off low HP targets at multiple different ranges with spare room for some overwatch fuel or something wacky like flechettes or catalysts for close range AoE.
-# End Purple thorn segment.
-# ah wait the license itself
-# The BBL: I am sure you have heard this from somebody at this point. But this is pretty hard to justify against taking Oracle. Even with its more consistent damage and lower LL cost. If I wanted to go hard into Gunslinger, I would take the extra LL dip to get the option that also has Crackshot instead of Stormbringer available to it, has 50% more range, and when line of sight doesn't come into play, more accuracy to work with Crackshot's bonus damage. I genuinely don't think this needs an SP cost. It's an Auxiliary smart gun and whilst smart gun has an SP cost, I would argue that it because it is far more direct comparison with other main weapons, breaks the 4 damage threshold, has sizeable area control, and basically is guaranteed to hit by itself let alone using Crackshot with it. If the SP cost must stay, then it should fill a niche better. Either as a needler with AP and 1 damage (fits with its lore) or giving it reliable 2, giving it a minor debuff in some way, or giving it a directional push to work it in with the Thorn's sub-movement control shtick. Funny how Aux weapons have so little going on with them but that makes them warrant so much discussion. They are the one drops or 3-frame jabs of this game.
-# TAM: I like interstitial 1 SP systems a lot. Not a ton of room to shift things around on this but it really doesn't need much critique. If I made something like this I don't think I could stop myself from letting it work with tech attacks on the edge of sensors.
-# Shredder Cannon: I literally cannot offer my thoughts on this. I have to defer to the playtesters for opinions. I have never really used or made a similar weapon style, that being a loading debuffer that still seems like it could have some decent damage output due to its consistency. I don't want to wade in here and give thoughts that aren't fully formed or lack confidence.
-# .
-# Pinpoint Mark: This not needing line of sight feels rough. It basically is "Give all attacks seeking, range 50, and +1 to hit" with no ability to retaliate for a majority of decent targets for this system. It being limited is making me shy to nerf it really. I don't think its ridiculous just I feel like being hit with it could invalidate some encounter designs. Also its incredibly good with the Tortuga and DSAS and my burning hatred of the DSAS is possibly clouding my judgement in that fashion. At most, at MOST. I would say maybe make it so the target has to remain in sensors to be hit. Otherwise the effect goes dormant until you get them within sensors range again. But that may warrant updating the limited.
-# Superpositional Profile: This is meant to work against tech attacks right? If so, then change nothing and I have not much more to say, it is a cool system and a decent but selfish defensive tool which there aren't enough of.
-# HEM: I really feel like this is weak. But cannot nail down why. Maybe it's only being on one mount, maybe its the fact the Impaired only matters for the first hit, I am not sure. It's a playtesting thing for me, if it feels good to use and nobdoy has had complaints. That's cool.
-# Primrose:
-# Frame: Goddamn those are some strong stats. Damn that is a strong trait. Damn those are some good mounts with those stats. Damn that's a good Core Passive and Active. I kid but already being a little wary of Melee focused strikers I hesitate to let this one pass scrutinized but so much of its stuff is simple +1s or rather binary so I cannot even say tweak it much. I will say though. MWR is a very funny trait because it is relying on getting critical hits with Heavy and Superheavy Melees. In my experience when that happens the enemy simply uh. Dies. It feels redudant and unecessary as its already got a ton going for it. Maybe just bring Effervescent up to be a trait. I also think Shimmering Shield is a bit much. The +2 threat Superheavy Overwatches is already plenty even at half damage. Plus, does in cover mean when you are attacked over cover with melee (rare) or just if you are adjacent to cover you nullify one of the major benefits of melee (busted)? I think it doesn't need to be there honestly but its not the stand out thing amongst the frame.
-# Rend Axe: I know it has to have a main melee on the license, it cant all be heavy and up but its funny to see a main melee on the heavy+ license. Otherwise, this is a cool design. It is basically a passive system when going for a superheavy playstyle but eh, gotta use that third mount for something right?
-# Dazzling Wind: You add limited onto a lot of things in here. Once again, I don't think this really needs it considering this doesn't ignore engagement or reactions and is a quick action on a license built around full actions. If you are worried about it being super strong maybe add on something like "you must end next to a hostile character" so it doesn't allow for footsies. Probably should be unique as well.
-# .
-# Acrasial Falcata: Weird seeing a Superheavy on 2. I'm interested in the design process behind this one, has it performed well in testing? I feel like I would rather have the extra d6 and AP of TCB even if its 1 less threat it would be on the mech that can make up for that threat deficiency with +1. Retort is neat but as a GM I just, wouldn't try to melee you a bunch, which works as a deterrent but also feels a bit bad to have on a superheavy melee which should be the deterrent itself.
-# DDMR: I think the threat increase alone is enough. Maybe even too much.
-# Eternity Hammer: Weird seeing a second Superheavy on a license. Anyways, Now this is Superheavy Melee-ing. It should honestly deal 3 burn on hit as well and the Heat 1 feels Quaint and a bit sheepish. Like it's not owning up to itself, I don't know how else to put it.
-# Flourishing twirl: This feels out of place on a Full action frame that is also diagnosed with Executioner 3 at birth. Like it is extra damage but I feel like it could be more interesting. Maybe even let you make a Superheavy attack for half damage or something and up the SP cost but keep the limited or make it limited 1 or just a simple 1/Scene. Add a heat cost I am not very sure. Something to do with making an additional attack on kill? There's a couple directions >I could think of cause right now its mostly just Executioner 2 on a stick for arguably less damage on average.
Geez, I always do this. Set out to just check out some homebrew stuff and end up writing for like 2 hours. I think I am taking a break being halfway done.
Blink bolts used to have ap and they were nuts
At 2 damage? Because I can see that being busted.
giving reliable 1 to bbl
gonna see how that goes
ill give thorn an extra aux aux
i made blessed bolt no longer the first, but aux aux mounts can only still have the first shot doing damage
might make stalk 2/round
give it that, a mount, and a TECHNICALLY better blessed
HORUS
-# Myconid: I am assuming the core active is adjacent for allies and burst 2 for hostiles because burst 2 for both or adjacent for both was unbalanced? I think it could be burst 2 for both. I really feel like the pike can just be a reaction and not a full integrated threat 8 melee. Otherwise, anything that gets people off the gorgon is solid.
-# Rakshasa: This is an interesting take on a controller, forgoing all benefits for typical hackers and going with a bag of tricks. I like it even if its actually more fragile than the goblin with its halved evasion but hey, 20 sensors is still 20 sensors. Not really a ton to say here, I guess I am just proud you didn't make it able to critically hit invades.
-# Slaugh:
-# Frame: I think Stealing from the dead could easily have a static number added or double the overshield. I, hmm. I really don't have much more to say. I do like the overshield sensors mechanic and I guess the Core active doesn't really feel all that flashy?
-# Rend Axe Nexus: If you are already in hard cover this effect doesn't really achieve much, and it still is beaten out by melee. Could it just be upgraded to "+2 difficulty" raw? Also as it is written this would also waste its charge against a tech attack, which also isn't affected by the cover.
-# O' Trickery: Hunt is alright as a movement invade and doesn't feel like it would have to be 1/scene or could be changed to not counting already adjacent characters as valid targets. But I really like Grey Birds. I need to play with that just to feel how constricting it is. Though it feels off on the Slaugh itself, which wants others to be attacked around it and itself avoided.
-# Nightfare Nexus: Well that's a neat trick. I feel like it could grief a little bit and it disrupts Centimane but what doesn't really.
-# Twilight Swarm: I really feel like if you could make it so Crown of the Restless didn't expend a charge that would really help this out. It's a serviceable system as it is but I feel like using it would be procrastinating forever on the best time to use Crown instead of making the most out of the constant overshield you are generating. Also it's kind of broken on the Emperor since it regains the overshield and then takes the damage so unless you use it at full shield you will have some left, but its overshield stuff. It kinda can't avoid being good on the emeperor.
-# .
-# Morrigna-Class NHP: Damn. That is strong, I feel like it could just be +1 difficulty since the other effect kind of guarantees other defensive buffs and at some point I see this easily hitting like, 4 difficulty against them whilst you are miles away. But its a support tool, I am privy to give it a larger pass so people want to use it.
-# Bleakshadow Gate: Yeah. I gotta see this in action to ascertain it.
bleakshadow is nuts if you built into it
its bad if you dont
pike being a melee is purely to be badass no mechanical reason
Yeah okay
Falacata worked pretty well last time I tested it, I spent most of my time hopping around the map, spamming rend axe, and punishing anyone who dared miss me
-# Naga:
-# Frame: This one seems like a real grab bag of ideas. It has Lock-On, Smart weapon buffs, a heavy mount but above average SP and systems, skirmisher tech actions, and an impair save on crit but with a save of 10. Its rather all over the place but this may be a license where the frame doesn't hold my attention compared to the equipment on it. I can also see this is one of the more recently made ones which would explain the "6 traits" of it all.
-# Binding Fangs: I ain't sure about this one. I like all the upsides but on the other hand... The GMS knife has +1 damage... That's where I am sitting with it, it is competing so much with it as just "thrown knife with some extra bits" and I am almost wondering if missing that damage is a dealbreaker for me.
-# Wide Gaze Networks: Ping feels possibly abusable. Since NPCs cannot clear conditions normally you can just leave that lock on to perma-impair them. It's not ridiculous and you'll want to consume the lock-on but it feels like a bug. Hypnotize is cool and a decent anti-AGI invade which I don't think I see very often, most of them are just heat-gunning or anti-Hull.
-# Shimmering Lancer: This thing can be threat 3 in my opinion. It is competing with War pike and costs an SP to have a chance at 3 Overshield and Smart. It can be threat 3 and not break things.
-# Green Tide: With it expending a charge and Accelerate being Accelerate, I honestly say let the swarm stay there the whole scene. Otherwise you have to coordinate with the whole team to get value meanwhile other frames have movement tools that you set and get use out of like 3 weeks later.
-# .
-# Weeping Blade: So we can assume with lock on somehow being applied, this weapon for 2 SP and the cost of somehow applying lock on its profile comes out to be [Threat 2, 2 SP, Inaccurate, AP, Thrown 5 (Heavy melee so no hunter 3 buffs), Smart, 2d6+2] otherwise it is a 2 SP thrown 5 heavy charged blade with 2 threat essentially, which isn't as useful since it can still be thrown, with Smart off the top of my head from figuring this out a few months back going pretty average on whether its better or worse than non-smart weapons, often worse against frontline tanks like goliath or pyro. I think this can do 1 or 2 more damage, or have a different effect with lock on and just let it keep the damage. There isn't many good outlets to check what SP heavy melees should be getting out of that cost since nanobot whip isn't pulling any numbers, but comparing say, the Smart Gun to the Assault Rifle that power gap is far larger than the Heavy Charged Blade or standard Heavy Melee and this.
-# BATS (wrong mech for this smh): I fee like the first part is going to be ignored and the "Nail somebody for goddamn like 24 damage on crit" is going to be more commonly used. It's pretty cool though nothing on the Naga really wants it much I think outside of the weeping blade but that isn't critting all that often. Goes stupid with a Markerlight ally.
stort too :3
I will admit. Love em to death, the only Stort player I know is in it more for the roleplay.
the naga wants crits for lance too
I havent glimpsed the whispered heights the Stort can attain.
its bad
its so much damage
and grey/green
for the crits
i do agree weeping blade can do more damage though
I dont think 3 shield is that big of a payoff though...
on a main melee?
Eh. I guess its critically hitting often enough.
Yeah, I mostly saw it as a nice bonus and not something to build around though.
Maybe it pulls its weight more than I'd think.
I'm so used to main melees just being vectors for damage stacking by frames angry they can't put on a TCB.
probably ends up being worth about maybe 9 hp each combat?
thats a lot for something dead easy to use
at ll6 and beyond it starts getting into, every time you hit
because you get duelist
thats my secret, I have only played jank beyond LL5 because I found it far to easy to slip into optimizing fun out of things.
I was running Nanocomp Arc Projector with External Batteries and Heavy gunner.
granted I did run main melees
but it was terashima blade so.
I had fun at least.
shimmering lance at two is just to not edge in on war pike, it needs SOMETHING that makes it better
I took that something to be the 0 SP cost.
But I don't want to bicker. You have seen it played with, you know it better.
Behold. The only non-aux thrown weapon in vanilla lancer.
Because Hunter as a talent bloody bottlenecked the entire archetype.
you can still juggle it
I'm making a big thrown weapon license for my 2.0 with the PDF. But I digress.
I mostly mean it that Hunter's existence made it so they didnt really need to give many weapons thrown directly and it completely ruins throwns downside so I feel like it made them averse to making larger thrown weapons.

-# Subutai: Its a fine mech, it is. But it feels like it ignores a ton of drawbacks on the license for no real reason? Like it can still pop siege stabilizers and keep moving, arguably moving faster. It wants to be a frontline tank drawing attention, but it has so much range and essentially just 2 armor as its only defensive thing that it doesn't really sit well on those frontlines and more just wants to guard the secondary artillery you have. With the lower heat cap its also harder to use HAs suite of defender licenses cause they are all heat heavy and you probably want to be using the heat heavy artillery on the Barb as well. Maybe I am just so removed from this style of play I am not getting it but it feels a little trapped between its license and the power fantasy.
-# Vauban: I said I wouldn't point it out every time, but the Vauban's art is the first time I was like "Damn, that surpasses a good couple of the vanilla designs for me." Shits sick. It's stats seem pretty huge for something with a Heavy Mount but then again so does the Iskander so. Mastication is cool as a control tool. Breach is a nice bonus for actually using all of the Iskanders kind of weaker nonsense (outside of the frame itself). I feel like Sap and Gravity Well could be extremely punishing for a GM trying to make a map using a lot of DT as a strategic zone, as it all just buffs the Vauban, but its not a huge deal and its still annoying to move through.
vauban is funny because you and your friends still all suffer for DT
also subutai is a defender artillery, it shouldnt be a front liner
I mean I assume Vauban comes equipped automatically with Rapid Burst Jump Jets practically but I know that is factored into the strength
then its just a defender
youd be suprised
I figured that, I was just having a hard time figuring out how that playstyle even would work. It truly is a "I just have played in very different groups" deal.
Was the mech with fusionbleed shurikens and the rest taken off for now? (don't remember the name)
Seems to still be here, the Koremasa
fusionbleed is now INTERESTING
the parasitism version of goblin's symbiosis
-# Leoleth:
-# Frame: I was going to say the stats are damn high but it will often be taking a brunt of attacks due to the elegant nudging of QuatroVigint A as a trait towards the expected playstyle. I tried to work out in my head how easy it is to break To to Toe but due to only having 2 moutnts its not even like its a giant damage increase since you wouldnt have barraged that turn. Just made usage of offensive systems. I feel like core systems are rather unfocused and in general the mech is just "go melee" but I don't think its trying to be anything else.
-# Thunder Sword: Okay. This is a Heat 1 Self threat 1 Main Melee that does 1d6 damage and can feasibly do up to 1d6 +5 if the GM decides to move up to five spaces which some frames cant even do without boosting and at that point the GM is throwing. The standard melee is 1d6 +2, the only choice to really make is assessing whether or not that 5 damage and probable overwatch is worth moving out of the way or pursuing a further target is worth the 5> damage. I think a lot of the times it is and its not actually all that much and can be very... cost benefit weighed. With giving yourself a heat and possibly getting no benefit, I say make it burn, that really throws off cost benefit analysis because burn can double or god triple its basic output if unlucky. Yes, Puppet systems is stupid with this but Puppet systems is stupid with everything, anybody that has made homebrew should learn to get real annoyed with puppet systems ad I assume you are as well so I am not factoring it in as strongly.
-# W.I.N.G: Its a blunt and crude counter, but the Leoleth doesn't seem very subtle as a license.
-# .
counter to what
thundersword is actually kinda busted already, i dont think it needs MORE
I just mean to control tools in general, it feels like what was it called Legendary in 5E where you kind of have to deal with it and just, burn control tools until they run out, which is fine its just blunt.
I am surprised to hear.
1d6 +5 is a lot of damage
I guess it does semi immobilize you next to a melee striker but I feel like if they are just sitting next to an enemy other hostiles can dogpile them.
And its not a ton more than a tactical melee plus its conditional, I guess I am not seeing it but I've had to do that a few times now with the whole lcp and deferring to more experienced judgement on it doesn't rock my boat so okay.
I just am truly surprised the thunder sword was really strong
heat 1 cost and if you hit somebody who NEEDS to move (objective or something) or if you wanted to puppet system them anyway
its damage
-# Thermal Death Axe (oh I love this band): I have tried to put my impressions into words for like 4 minutes now I kind of can't, I want to say its just a higher damage heavy melee with extra steps and the limited mechanic feels tacked on but it's actually not able to be overcharged with in the stronger profile which sort of automatically balanced it in my head. It was a weird process coming to terms with the Thermal Death Axe
ahh. Objectives that people actually play... I wonder what those must be like
rewards you for not spamming attacks or moving
there is a reason I get to keep getting value out of making this.
yeah...
gms who require objective focusing are scary
also, i wanna know what you think of zip type
can you spot the interactions?
I accidentally hit enter instead of cutting so now the impressions are segmented dang it.
We shall see.
I got radicalized playing through some modules into making my whole whole 0-8 campaign with deeper mechanics and objectives. This shall be my magnum opus.
-# Zip Type Engine: huh.
I don't think I am seeing it outside of just, skirmisher? It was either going to jump out at me or completely pass me by.
skirmisher is a good one
I got it. Prospector.
that too
maidens blush skirmisher
have a sunzi on your team?
Pankrati is crazy actually
zip type
I try and erase pankrati 2 from my head as often as possible becauseof one of my forever-players.
juggernaut drive
Yeah its a rather cool system, does Juggernaut drive deal no damage?
green tide
zip type was not made with a particular interaction in mind, but rather the full bredth of possiblity
nelson core
rapid rushdown
-# Greenlight Projector: Finally my Lancaster Melee build is coming online. It's strong, and semi-abusable, but its at least 1/Round. Shock Wreathe found dead outside hotel.
-# Jormungandr Class NHP: I think you should let allies shoot you to trigger it this cannot go wrong.
its gotta be a hostile source otherwise you can zip type with it
The Jorm I am looking at doesnt move you
skirmisher
its not about the spaces, its because you get a free attack
you toe to toe, teleport 2, take one, then attack again,
two FREE attacks
so its gotta be a hostile source
fine...
-# Koremasu, The Final:
-# Frame: Oh here's the danger zone mech. You gave me a newar heart attack with that first sentence on the active I thought the word jockey was about to assault my eyes. Folly seems very strong but it is a quick action that must be repeatedly taken for high damage output which, at least its not just one big "for the rest of the scene you hit harder" buff, and it is very cool. I too, have made a reverse Goblin Core Active. Gut Reactor is very out of nowhere. I get it wants to hack a bit and heat gun a bit more but, isn't exposing the mech reward enough? The last thing I think of with exposed enemies is "If only I had a bit more damage against this exposed character!" It's not a huge thing but just, a huge insult to injury quite literally. I do like the whole frame though and it entices me to look at the rest of the gear with its hybrid aesthetics.
-# Makibishia Magnets: Thundersword mines?! For a reasonable price?! I feel like this could stand to have more charges if it wants to be thrown a lot, like limited 4 or something, even 3. They are a bit ricochet blades as of right now.
-# Phase Cloud: Cute, fun system. Yup.
-# Rendwire sickle: Damn. I'me surprised you didn't put a 1 SP on this bad boy, I don't think it needs it but it seemed like SP melees were a big part of the design process. That is just a solid melee that feels like it is bordering on busted but held back by the prospect of rolling high on other weapons. Charged Blade is in shambles though.
-# Blinkblade Slash: Hey wait a minute this is just Hull Breach Thrusters but with black and white impact frames! I get why its part of the save but passing the hull save avoiding lock on feels zany.
-# .
-# Fusionbleed Shurikens: Yeah I don't have the above version that is 1 energy 1 heat or the extra attack so I will act like it is that one. That version is very cool, I honestly think the secondary attack shouldn't deal any heat to you.
-# Juztaposition Augments: I kinda wanted this whole thing to end on a larger note but it shall end with a "oh thats a fun little thing to build around a weapon. If it isn't unique and requires the danger zone it feels like it could be 1 SP."
and with that. My extremely unbalanced sense of obligation is fulfilled.
I will say though, feel like it could've used more unsaveable stuns.
This was fun. Good to know my passion for homebrew and overthinking homebrew can extend to other projects so seamlessly.
Outside of completely flooding your chat.
-# Which I do apologize about.
nah its fine, ill probably impliment at least some of these changes
my tendrils of influence spread...
I gotta go do this to Freistride, Sigo has been left hanging by me and I need to crash his chat for once.
Do both of Twilight Swarm's different actions Expend Limited Charges individually? (Sluagh LL2 System).
Like, if i use the Quick and then I wanna use the Free Action on the same turn, that's two Limited Charges I'm spending?
Yes but the charges are subject to change
Not fully happy with the system
Understood!
I LOVE NAGA
I LOVE DEDICATED HYBRID TECH ATTACKERS
Also:
Is the breaker cannon thing intentionally range 3?
Yes it was busted at 5
YESSSS
uncle
you could just spam out huge reliable damage at moderate range
eh ok
3 forces you to be RIGHT up close, which fits the idea of it anyhow
yeah
like a last resort
6 just feels low but im not one to judge
(mainly because it's a heavy so to me that screams "main gun")
the main issue was like
Art is gorgeous too
easy witch/mirage/hornet deletion
hrmmm with the reliable yes
pishly is a wizard
Finally centimaine will not be insanely luck dependent
centimane not dogwater for once
lmao yeah its the main reason i didnt put a nexus on the liscence
nah light nexus is fine
Chain Axe is in shambles
We have the new shredd applicator
(other than swallowtail)
You dont count
the 18-20 crit might be changed to 19-20, that parts still under testing
current testing hasnt shown a problem yet
but, i havent had a full centimane build with it yet so
we will see
ehhehehehehehe
Honestly I think a centi build might be weaker than we think because it has a heavy mount
So its incentivized only to use nexus to barrage
Kind of balances out in the end?
oh it lost its heavy
got a main/aux
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Does... does it have a damage trait?
Yeah probably for the best
hold on
it got a weapon shift around
shimmering lance is now shimmering blade and is ll1
fangs has limited 2 and is now ll2
ooooooooooooooh goofy
It's not :(
I'll probably still enjoy it
Also weeping lance can become the big, gigantic, meaty 1d6+4 AP heavy we all wanted
alas
technically its better as a main (duelist) but i wont lie, i am a little sad i dont get to have a heavy lance

Pattern-B HEX Charges x4, Spike Charges x3, Hardpoint Reinforcement, Grounding Charges x3, Personalizations``` Testing out a build of the Vauban. Trying to figure out how to make best use of its unique Traits.
The way I understood it from a glance is that it's meant to play at a closer range than the Iskander by default so I'm trying to figure out what else would be good to make use of its most unique aspects. Might be good for me to shave off a level of either Demolitionist or Grease Monkey and try House Guard on it or something to give it more opportunities to use Gravity Well for Allies and more opportunities to trigger Solfataric Breach.
I really like the increased focus in using and creating Difficult Terrain in general though, feels like a good place to set it apart.
i like the caliban usage
Yea, I really like Spike Charges since it theoretically would allow me to pinball people into other Mines. Hammer U-RPL is also just a really hefty Stormbringer user.
Which does remind me: Since a character being Prone counts as them being Slowed, does it trigger Solfataric Breach or does it only trigger on specifically inflicting Slowed/Immobilized?
i believe it applies slowed so yes
Perfect. Thank you.
But yeah, Vauban seems really neat, main combinations I've tested so far on them have been with things like Minotaur, Black Witch, Caliban and Vlad. Feels like a pretty strong close-range variant to Iskander. I feel like it's got that similar high Skill Floor that regular old Iskander enjoys too, which is exciting.
It has acual armor and speed
How about that
I mean Isk had armor it just had stubby legs
Vauban is the brawling isk we always wanted
(no +1 TA tho :( )
had to be worse at something
Yeah
Truth. Means you gotta invest on Tech more heavily if you want to trigger Solfataric Breach off Invades.
I find it ironic that the vauban design ended up being similar to the vauban heirloom skin in warframe
pishly is a huge vauban warframe fan
it looks badass so i dont care, but the respemblence is intentional
The sixth voice vauban existed before the heirloom
I know thats what I find ironic it's like our favorite bomb boi was meant to have a puff jacket
all frames must have drip
it is imperitive
I mean it's like 1 point of sys so
Honestly I never noticed it until you squint despite having been big fans of both
Yeah my favorite artworks are the Vauban, the Myconid and the Sluagh
Seen the maidens blush alt frame yet?
Art wise
Oh yeah that one is really cool too, I completely forgot about it

chain axe is funny though
thats pretty cool
why chainaxe instead of variable?
just so you can also get synthetic and grapple?
but then what is the metalmark for? future levels for shock knife?
That and Reactive Weave
Potentially yeah. The main idea was to try and combine as much as possible. I liked Chain Axe cuz I wanted to make the Knives hurt.
thats a cool idea
And I with a Main/Aux, I can attack with an Aux weapon first, proc the Crit, then hit them with my Chain Axe while they're Immobilized and have a greater chance of critting them.
ah, thats pretty clever
did you have any thoughts on the recent changes to the maidens blush invis mechanics?
myconid my beloved
I hadn't remembered the original but I like the one that's there now. It's a fun fantasy as well and lets you do some very interesting things with the frame's Teleportation systems.

it was not what i expected but it's cool as hell

Is there a limit to the sluagh's astral guardian trait, because being able to shave off 4 damage from any attack to an adjacent ally at no cost seems really good
No but there probably should be
1/round feels a little bad but twice seems too much
1.5/round
I'm being mechanics mogged in my own thread

I'm being dunked on

I have slight concerns. One of my players is using a Fitzgerald and their personalization is structural analysis equipment and sensors.........They demo'd a hab block in a mega city......
We siding with the Old King with this one 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
IPS-N is not responsible for any property damage side affects when using the Fitzgerald
THAT'S THEIR CALL SIGN!!
oh god
And their Frame's name is either Public Safety Hazard if they're feeling funny or Implementation of The Gallows when they are serious.
He's a freakin menace let me tell you. Because primarily he's THE FACE of the freaking party with the skill for it too. Minus you know having maxed out Blow Something Up.
do they say things like:
YES
oh no
truly a wiki page of all time
Oh it gets freaking better. They're putting levels into freakin Iskander and are using the AC 6 LCP someone here made. IDK what they plan on pulling from that but it will be cataclysmic i am sure
Basically we have Old King, some poor cloned criminal who is serving consecutive life sentences and is trapped in their Atlas, The Stereotypical Happy Sniper but they're in a freakin Reaper Dart(Suldan shoot and scoot death's head variant), and a FREAKING LITERAL TANK(Triton alt frame for barbie from Ilean) they are a MENACE the lot of them

Bonus temp armor is something Lancer could use more of
It’s easily understandable, isnt a new mechanic, and is distinct but not superior to difficulty
Since it can be bypassed through shredded and ap
Eventually ™ I'll play a Myconid, and I talked to my current GM who may be the GM when I do play it. They have a concern with armor + overshield combo, which is understandable. Having both seems like a pretty strong combo.
Neither of us are certain that it's overtuned or anything, Gorgon and Myconid are both just weird frames and we're planning on trying some playtests to kinda compare.
What exaclty are you planning to do with myconid?
Since it seems wildly different to Gorgon
And because of symbiosis, it might be able to really get use out of scylla and monitor without having to rely on critfishing/fishing for on-hit effects
lets you make better use of autostab too
been a miinute since i checked my build but uh
it's really weird
because my character will run both a gorgon and a myconid
she has a greenwash tumor iin her head
so between scenes itll swap sometimes
but one of my ideas on myconid is getting autostab and stabilizer mod, probably white witch levels as well
GMS SWEEP
its always a gms sweep
it's always a gms sweep 😔
i like that they work for a lot but i am sad that it so often feels optimal too
Lancer 2 is the same game but they buff hmg
hey may I ask, what is a GMS sweep?
Using GMS core bonus
GMS sweep is not a thing per say,
But the options offered for character customization by GMS are strong but lacks flavor (see OPcal or Heavy Machine Gun). Since its options are available to everyone, this kinda defeats the point of acquiring licenses and creating a unique build.
Sweep as in, winning every category, the joke was that gms is just really good
lmao true
Lancer 2 - Era of HMG
Essentialyl GMS core bonuses and benefits are kind of designed in a way where they dominate the game of “raw numbers.” They have HMG, and core bonuses like OpCal/Autostab which kind of fuck with a lot of math and end up narrowing build choices.
They just remove innacurate

I was kinda worried because I think I'm picky with snakeish mechs

and the greenwash is soooooo perfect
I'm so glad to have another greenwash mech and it's perrrrrfect
It's absolutely peak
The heavy mount is controversial
Thinking on it
I could reduce its stats and give it a heavy, main aux and an aux aux
But then I gotta make weeping s heavy
So more damage
Go heavy and flex, like the tortugler, lycan, and manti
Then kick the traits or stats in the shins
It is controversial but only with how many traits it had
tortugler is peak

New favorite
Yellow the wizard
Is the reason the shuriken damage is so low because its able to multihit ?
I can see how, with the koremasa being intended to impair, slow, then overheat and expose the enemy, giving its weapons higher damage could be very risky from a balance standpoint
Heat damage is large part of the budget yeah
Koremasa and NAGA are ballin holy fucks
naga heavy mount
lost grey/green
got the heavy
damage buff to lance
@finite wyvern @dense cedar just for you :3
grey/green
ah
which is what got added when it lost the heavy
nah, its still got exposed reactor
heavy weeping lance is so cooooooooool
i think it can keep the heavy, the traits are pretty balanced
i think so too
for now
its more about play pattern than power at this point
if it feels better getting the aux first, or just going for the damage
IT'S SO FUCKING EDGY
YEAH
I love how you managed to make it very HA without being too bulky and still feeling like a ninjia
yellows just built different
this isnt for anything, but he sent it to me last night
hazard fighting archer at port
just for the love of the game
the koremasa having an exhaust trail styled after a good ol kamen rider scarf is a design trope I always go YEEAAAHHH over
its so good
I need to find a game where I can convince the GM to let me run a Hazard
it's probably my favorite in the whole LCP
honestly if it was polished up I think it'd make great cover art
RIP green/grey, you will be missed
thank you :3
So the 6th Voice has 2 illustrators, Phish and Yellow or am I mistaken?
they are the same person
Pishly is yellow
yellow is his name on open table, pishly is his name on itch/pilotnet
but technically yes anyway because waywardcryptid did leoleth
I get that it is probably for balance, but the fact that koremasa has the same evasion and speed as a sagarmatha feels... weird
that is kinda funky
I feel like the evasion could be higher, but would require worse other stats
and i really like armor on 1/2 sizes
yeah, it makes sense mechanically, I just think of it like the blackbeard (description mentions that it is difficult to hit, has standard evasion) and the nelson (description mentions cool armor plating, 0 armor) how vibes/lore does not always match up to mechanics
More I dive into the rulebook, more I find that the fluff and stats of gear/mech is completely separated anyway
isnt this caliban stats?
caliban has more armor but less heat cap
ah
OOH wait 1 arm 6 hp
yeah that is pretty fragile for a more close range mech
if you have 8 eva/edef
not sure how tanky i could make it whithout being crazy
Naga core passive is very confusingly written rn
Mb someone has already called it out but I cba to search through this chat
Naga and primrose art is amazing btw
First of it's just straight up missing a use of "an"
1/per round when you or an allied character...
Secondly it's kinda unclear who benefits from the effect. Do you benefit from the effect if you lock on or does another character bemefit from the effect?
I'd assume the second but in that case I think you'd need to specify "an allied character within sensors" again
@rocky hawk I've just played black mountain in a mission, and I mean no offense when I say this, i think it might be the strongest mech I've ever seen?
uh oh
mission was at LL3
stronger than the emperor?
massively
most up to date version?
I was gonna play emperor, GM said he was allowing sixth voice cuz a player wanted to try fitzgerald (totally fine I think, barring the fact that it's kinda not an artillery with range 10's), I saw black mountain and went oh no Im playing that instead
the combination

here was the stup
frail for sure
the fact that I can do it to anyone
like emperor requires me to shoot ONE guy, and then that ONE guy gets bonus damage against him
this is every ally within my massive sensors
which makes it so ABSURDLY convenient
orator 3 leader 3
how did you not die
who else was on the team?
A leoleth, a fitzgerald, and a Rubicon (from my LCP)
all did about the same level of typical striker damage
they run up to a dude and they explode
it's just that now there is no shot they dont explode, because I'm handing out +3's
and now my rubicon has 19 overshield
because anyone who threatens him is dead, and then exalt pops
how do you stack up 19 overshield?
also tier 1's truly do not do that much damage
in one round
no not one round
3 waves of reinforcements
it was one fight
we killed 15 NPC's
each coming in waves of 5
jumping us, unpredictable ingress zones
we took exactly 8 HP of damage
and that was intentional to clear leoleth's heat
(shahn)
how the hell do they not even attack you
orator 3 helped with the one time a sniper threatened me
but the vast majority of it is that the kit doesnt require LOS
I can sit behind a wall
and no one can see me
at the very least I think the entire kit should require LOS lol
i agree with that
if you want its frailty to be a true weakness
if you want it to be insane but if you dive it it pops, yes
cuz they have to be able to dive it lol
to be fair this isnt that much of black mountain's fault
I am very locked in when I play lancer and a team of 4 lancers is so absurdly overpowered even in core book
i think adding of sight to everything is actually very necessary
lancers are just insanely OP and going through 4 fights with no structures is not hard
good feedback
I agree completely, and then I would just look at nerfing either its ability to hand out either damage or overshield
or make them mutually exclusive on a given turn
like exalt cant be used if end to all things was or soemthing
that's bad but you see my point
the only issue is that it has to be strong enough to even work at low ll, but not too strong at high ll
but also has to still work at high ll without being too good at low ll
certainly, however quite a few core book mechs are very obviously "scalers", like dusk wing
dusk wing is so absurdly HASE hungry that until high LL it's hard to use
so I think it's better to have a mech that maybe is better at higher LL's than it is to have one that is emperor but better lol
I dont mean to say this is intentional, I just mean to say if massif can do it so can you lol
in the name of keeping emperor as an option lol
alright, current changes are LOS to exalt, end to all things, and dread harbinger exalt overshield back to 1+grit and sensors down to 10
I think that will make it a bit of a hydrogen baby
which is good
explodes on contact, but if you leave it be you lose
sry for spam lol I just had to let you know that shit was CRAZY
nah, thats the whole point of the channel lmao
plus its good feedback, very actionable
if you end up with any other thoughts or opinions on any of the frames lemme know
espeically the new ones
this is hardly a critique, but more of just a statement. A lot of the mechs in sixth voice are very much closed loops. Like, they come stock with everything you need before you even put a system on them. That's not inherently a bad thing, but it's just something you should know exists in case you didnt
in my opinion at least, this is true
some of the v2 nerfs should hopefully address that
fitzgerald truly doesnt actually care to use its main mount unless things are going wrong and it cant handle its bizzare cannon damage
making the base kits weaker as awhole
I think fitzgerald is fine, to be clear, I would personally slap the striker label next to artillery and make it a striker/artillery tho lol
just to say like it's kinda low range for an arty
(really not a meaningful change)
probably true, just really wanted to have an ips-n art
but man range 10's on an arty is ruf
8 on the rapier too
dont get me wrong those guns cannot be range 15 lol that's far too big
if you want to force it to be an arty, you could do some shenanigans with like, line 15, but it cannot target people within range 5
you are gonna hate seneshal
lol I havent read much if any of the new stuff I've been waiting for it to be done
its only 4 liscences so its about half the size
leoleth, I cant say too much about, the leoleth player didnt get a chance to use leoleth because we constantly needed him to dive people which is exactly not what the leoleth wants to be doing
so he sure did do heavy melee striker damage
greenlight projection is kinda just better thermal charge tho lol....
like yeah I take 1 burn but man I have 16 HP
or 30
from the playtests ive done, its stacked up a couple of times
because people really hate putting points into engineering
?????
someone once took like, 10 damage from it
??????????????????????
well they want agility for the speed and to take advantage of the movement stuff
and hull for being a frontliner
systems becasue it has dogshit sp
(it doesnt it just has expensive systems)
also no one builds systems for SP
if you do you are literally just wrong
your choice is incorrect
although that was before jorg was 3
someone once built fitz with no hull at ll6
dude I think your playtesters were some filthy casuals
core powered and overcharged to attack with bizarre twice every turn
it killed things
it sure did i'm sure but you dont have to die to run an OC build
and more importantly you dont have to make your entire build around your inneficient core power
that's a choice for sure
it seems like it
oh ok so my friend made a HORRIBLY DOGSHIT build that involved melees on a death's head using hyper focus. Hyperfocus makes them always in range, I told them range does not equal threat. Does hyperfocus let you melee dudes from range?
kk lol
mostly to the liscence
here's the build in case you want to be offended

wait what
seneschal hazard or something else?
yeah
i see i see
20 range
I think I will be publishing a test LCP
I really dont see why not
idk no one really comments in my thread nor on my itch page so probably wont get any feedback out of it but I might as well try lol
in case someone really badly wants to play something stupid and unfinished
The way to get people to play it is playtests and at a high grade of polish you ask very nicely if the mods can put it in the news channel and if massif is okay with publishing it under third license
It's on comp/con and it was in announcements but ye I havent done any playtests in pilot NET
yeah it honestly took a lot of time for the sixth voice to really get any attention
it's got plenty of downloads lol
also sick art really catches peoples eyes
my read is that it's the lack of art
oh? how many?
I'm fixing that, slowly
1500
that is a good amount
yeah, it's doing fine
I dont think I could reasonably expect any more since it's been up for only 5 months, and it launched with zero art
in fact it has more than I expected it would
thats pretty good for only 5 months
yeah no it's doing just fine
but it has generated no discourse, and I do personally chalk that up to no art
which is totally fair lol, when I was new if I saw a mech with no art I just straight up didnt fucking read it
LMAO
how can you be sure its got no discourse
people love talkinga bout things and then just never letting you know
none in pilotNET at least, with 1500 downloads almost certainly it's being used by someone
none of my playgroup have ever once mentioned grimm and sons ANYWHERE, but we have an orlando player
I just mean no discourse that is useful to me for improving the LCP lol
but ye I'm gonna just post a test LCP cuz why not
cant hurt
this may get me crucified but I do find pilotNET testing mostly not great
it doesnt really tell me the mech's power if the player's build is horrible
uh, yeah
i kind of agree
had a bunch ofpeople who have NEVER played before
i always feel bad pushign them away
but i have had some really good playtesters
but like, not all of htem
so I just kinda keep it to my group whom I know can make a torment nexus using first party stuff that kills 6 people in one turn and is immortal
yeah Im sure you find good ones but idk
I am afraid of people on this discord
lancer players are freaks
Im basically playing warhammer 40k (or whatever wargame of preference) and they are refusing to play technophile because there character is an AI so "it doesnt make sense"
nothing wrong with that, just not how I play
yeah i know some poeple like that
@gloomy lotus shout out for only playing Horus for ethical reasons
Horus??? ethical????
this is like saying that the imperium of man is the good guys
hecaton is an ecoterrorist
ask them about it, they can explain more than me
but i think the gist was, ha is facist, SSC are eugenisists, and IPS-N is Amazon
and Horus is all of them and none of them
that lich was made by 4 people on 4chan and they might be good people or they might think HA isn't genocidal enough
you never know
that's my read at least lol
MAYBE
personally, i think the corportations that build machines of war are never gonna be,
great
on the fact that they make death machines alone
and HA isnt facist anymore
mostly
also I dont think any polish is required to be in comp/con nor announcements, but everyone has to believe you do so that no one tries to publish unfinished stuff
it basically is required because you shouldnt break their trust lol
but the death machines are so pretty...
ive also had to have boob talks with pishly about several of them
