in FD, i think grunts/spectres give like 0.25 or 0.5 xp, idr what reapers give
for the other MP modes I believe it's only players/titans
they might give player xp but they weren't giving me gun xp IIRC

I feel the movement ceiling is hiiigh
where the skill ceiling is low
because there's only so much you can control
there's the uncontrollable situations
where you can argue if you read someone like a fighting game
or abuse spawns
or abuse non-normal mechanics
you can do things sometimes
the guns with the highest uncontrollable skill ceiling are the grenadier weapons
because they usually require enemies to be in specific positionings
of course you might actually be able to use cold war, land all four shots, and kill a pilot in one burst
but I'm only using my experience of getting the gun to g10
where at best I've hit like 2/4 or maybe 3/4 shots and it gets them to about half
but if I am right and it has a capped direct damage
then you have to do splash damage, which requires the player be next to something you can shoot

this is largely uncontrollable because there's a lot of mechanics you can use to prevent that from happening
phase shift, grapple, mid-air jet, double jump, etc, etc
outside of that skill largely depends on projectiles vs hitscan
and how you feel about predicting opponents at all
because you can argue that slow travel time weapons like EPG take more skill than fast travel time weapons like Kraber
where both guns kill on direct shot but EPG can kill off two splash damage shots
most of the hitscan weapons are largely easy to use
and usually SMGs are strongest because they have the most versatility and have easy control for most situations
but guns like spitfire massively outclass them if you're talking about standing still and firing
smgs can be used at range too, which makes them really strong 😩

if you use an SMG
you should not lose to the average smart pistol user
cost most smart pistol users don't actually use the smart pistol optimally

and there were plenty of ways to make it balanced without making it unfun

(where to be fair, most peoople have not made suggestions to balancing it for normal loadout use)

the closer the enemy pilot is to the center reticle
the faster it locks on
and the further away it is
the slower it locks on
where currently, as long as they are in the SP range it goes at the same speed

if you reduce the square to a smaller size then it makes the gun less fun
cause it kinda defeats the purpose
if you give the current tf2 modding scene another decade they might figure out how to do custom guns all the way through and then you can test out different ideas

Kraber is very funny
usually with kraber it's more for landing shots
than just using it like it sometimes is with the EPG and Cold War
i only really get cagey when some high level player is just beaming people with smg and not letting them have fun

it's usually more depending on if they do this and then do some titan meta-y stuff

but usually people that sweat with northstar do full sniping playstyle
which is sooo annoying
but again it usually doesn't bother me
i don't really know much about the titan side of things anymore
just it does when I see them swap from ronin as first drop
without assuming exploits most titans aren't that bad
the worst is first drop ronin
cause it's anti pilot
but usually past that most titans are bearable with average gameplay
I'm the guy who uses DMRs in CQB
it's just if you use ronin first drop, and then swap to a different titan that is considered a bit more high-output like northstar, monarch, or tone, you're really trying
or try to swap back to ronin with no titans around

and it sucks to put it out
or you can put it out later where it sucks more
tone is just annoying cause tone, northstar is annoying cause someone who's really good at northstar that is playing dedicated sniping is very hard to properly catch and stop
but also like
normal titan gameplay you have 6 pilots with free anti-titan weapons
so they will go down, eventually
usually what happens is people just don't use the AT weapons or ignore titans
and they get to just do what they want
and then they get another titan
and then another
and then suddenly they have 4 titans while no one on your team has a titan because they don't use their AT weapons and then your team gets one but oops it dies immediately to four titans

I kinda wish the other AT weapons were better
but fwiw beam rifle gets outclasses by thunderbolt on multi-titan hits
Beam Rifle gave me top damage that last round

yeah smgs are kinda good
which is great if you're learning the game 
i do think car is easy to use and very good for new-high mid tier players, until you learn to tap fire alternator for near-perfect hipfire accuracy
car is pretty good to spray with

I specifically avoided smgs for g10 weapons
Volkswagen's like motto? slogan ig? is just "das auto" which literally translates to "the car"

But once I finish epg and softball Im going to swap to shotguns and then go and wrap up smgs

monarch battery in pvp is important, in co-op it's not good because animation takes so long
you get better charge with just dealing damage
plus once you unlock the recharge smoke you can just tank everything

but tbf this is assuming you have aegis ranks unlocked
if not then the more viable build is like
healing teammates or spam rockets
but once you get the first aegis unlock you just drop smoke ontop of enemy, you gain shield in it and you can tank
from executions, you get a battery
so full shields and a lil health + 20% meter or something
if you have the correct execution equipped
oh I thought that was only with a specific passive
it's a specific utility or something you select
it changes the execution to the battery thief one

the campaign is so fucking good its just sad how short and linear it is
when i wanna explore the beautifully crafted maps they made with the cool fun game mechanics...
it reminds me a lot of 2014's ratchet and clank into the nexus in its platforming stuff and also being way too short
they couldve done so much more but....
not to beat a bloody horse-shaped pulp....

Imo the linearity really fits with "fuck, everyone is dead, Protocol 2: uphold the mission, we gotta go-Go-GO!", and that linearity also means that there's a lot less perspectives and close-up details to worry about - easier to craft and polish this as a smaller more guided and focused experience, easier to make stuff varied and unique when there's less stuff to make
