• Robot transported from the future/another timeline to the space-time of Deadlock, looking for a way back
• The Thing-esque Shapeshifter bio weapon (perhaps made into one against their will), hunting down their creator who made them

Gonna get a touch Political ™ but Bayo to me is somebody that got swept up in the post 9/11 fervor of the GWoT. Somebody that signed up, went to Iraq and participated in the atrocities. Unlike most people, he came back with an immense guilt for it. He saw the way that we went over and terrorized people on the other side of the world for our own gain, and then made movies about how sad it made our solders to blow those same people to pieces. And Bayo takes that guilt, even if misplaced and misdirect it, and make something out of it.

And Haze I think he may see the worst of himself

Someone who does harbor that same guilt, but doesn’t rail against the system. Someone who makes excuses and internalizes what they do. Someone who feels bad about killing, but still does it anyway. Haze may have her qualms with the OSIC, but she still end of the day believes in the mission.

There’s this ambiguity of if she’ll do her duty, or if she’ll wish for something else in spite of what the OSIC wants

But to Bayo, ambiguity isn’t enough

Roland and Joan

A knight and squire pair in Esvalia, these two kitsunes are on the run from the law and hunters due to Roland killing the lord he served when what he asked of him to do would contradict his knightly oaths

While he was ready to face his execution with dignity, as any true knight should, Joan refused to let him die, animating a statue of a horse she freed him from the cell he was in, and Roland, knowing they’d execute her as well if they were captured, relented and ran off with her

Roland is a young man, the youngest knight of his order, who truly and utterly believed in the oaths he took. Believing what he did was unforgivable, his only reason for living on is to ensure Joan’s survival, his original oaths require he protect the innocent after all

Joan however is a child, having sought out Roland due to his young knighthood in an explicit ploy to one up him, thinking that if anyone could teach her to be a knight at such a young age it would be the man who did it himself.

They both study and train metal elementalism, the preferred fighting style of Roland’s order, and while Roland is a master at it, Joan always struggled with the perfect manmade objects that the order required of her. She could barely move it, until she animated the status. Now she’s learn her real talent lies in natural shapes such as mimicking animals.

In battle they ride the statue Joan animated together, Roland creating arms and armor from metal he has on him while she controls their mount.

Looks wise I’m basically imagining Roland as a humanized red Fox and Joan as a humanized Fennec Fox, but also basically a Fox boy version of this art of Robb Stark by @ etceteraart and Suzuran from Arknights
