So, if the Pelican actually takes enough damage (engines start to smoke), Pelican One will leave with just one Helldiver.

the performance in this game is absolutely atrocious
I can run C77 (to be fair after years of optimisation and fixes, which just proves how unoptimized helldivers is) on medium settings all thanks to FSR and some tinkering, but no matter what I do to helldivers it refuses to run at 60 (my screen's refresh rate)
not to mention most other games running fine as well, not pretty but at least playable consistently,
helldivers rolls a dice and decides if it wants to run okay that day or not (while having everything on low)

the funny thing is, this patch my game has actually been playing nice for the most part
keeping roughly to 60 rarely dropping below 50 (minus lots of enemies on screen on a 9 bug mission)

The combination of poor sight lines poor illumination and ion storms do make the creek legit a fairly harsh planet

finally got every single thing from all warbonds so far
Damn I bought like all the warbond weapons and stratagems but missing like the misc cosmetics and certain armors
Ive got a lot of things to buy for completion but no medals
I've gotten most of everything in the warbonds
All the equipment, armor, helmets, capes, emotes
I've got everything I care about but there's a bunch of random redundant armors and capes and backgrounds
Haven't gotten all the backgrounds or every victory pose (since I really like the one I use)

im really enjoying the scorcher more than i thought i would
so far it seems to just be a better battle rifle. only light armour but the explosive tag seems to both go through armour and stun
I need to learn how to use the Blitzer cause idk how it's arcing works
Its fun but also feels bad when you're being chased by a horde and zap like 1 bug with no arcing
The Blitzer is a lot safer to use than the arc thrower IMO due to its very limited range and near lack of chaining.
Still stay aware of allies because it WILL fry them if you land an entire shot on them.
afaik the blitzer doesn't chain it just shoots multiple bolts and can target multiple things
But usually most of them all go for the "main target"
Otherwise I use it with the intents of:
- killing flanking hunters / scavengers
- staggering brood commanders
- staggering hive guards
- killing warriors
in rough priority
tbqh my chief concerns in any bug mission is just making sure the hunters are under control
I've found that the scythe is now a pretty good hunter-killer
everything else is either big enough to keep track of, slow enough to just weave around, or easy enough to clear with an accidental stratagem

I could see it. Still not a fan of the high (enough) TTK and I can't be assed to use it like a scalpel on bug legs though, so Sickle's higher burst DPS suits me better
It's very easy on hunters since you pretty much just need to sweep it across them

It's radius is pretty huge for a support much like a cluster, it's like at least 15m of danger

I was doing a 6 with some buds and it went so pear shaped so hard, like full on drained reinforces bad, i was able to carry the thing mostly but right at the end i call in one last reinforce to get our last guy back in for a full extract, and its the fucking best thing cause im just holding the door basically killing things for when he gets in

AH are running two new polls on their discord, about which warbond people felt had the best armors / weapons.
The results aren't surprising to me, but still interesting.
Armors has Helldivers Mobilize as the clear front runner, with only Democratic Detonation getting a significant proportion of votes otherwise.
Weapons has DD in a close lead over Helldivers and Cutting Edge.
Steeled Vets is in clear last place for weapons and just barely beats Cutting Edge for armors.
At least, right now.
I'm not surprised CE is last for armors, but that SV is so barely ahead of it, does surprise me.
Similarly, SV has the senator at least, I figured that'd help it a bit.
I would think the dominator would also give it a edge

I'm gonna call it and say that the game having worked fine pre hotfix and decidedly not working post hotfix, it might have something to do with the hotfix
i sometimes have it happen where i can use one site while not being able to use another, even tho i have internet on its saying it can't connect to it
that just means its much more likely to be an issue on their end

Absolutely deranged take. Precision orbital is genuinely one of the most versatile and powerful assuming you have the skill to use it, quite literally making this a skill issue for them
Why ever take railcannon if you have a good sense of timing and knowledge of how to manipulate the enemies into standing still if need be
(railcannon does have great value in being extremely easy to use and sometimes you don't have time to set up a proper precision orbital)
One of the same people thjinks the flamethrower is useless, so, yes. Skill issue.
Like i think on helldive the flamethrower starts to choke a little, but that's mostly because you really need your teamamtes to cover you so you can create a kill zone

i can rack up x50s just using it vs a breach
it is hilarious
and once you get enough napalm on the ground you can literally reload
while your kill count keeps climbing
because anything that's not a brood commander or spewer roasts to death in a second or two
fuck, i died once while doing this, and my kill count kept going up for another 10-20s.
it was funny as hell
Perhaps ironically, I started using the flamethrower as a more focused "few targets" weapon, but that's because I run the ARC-12 as primary and good God is that thing going to get balanced downward later. It is far too good at what it does.
In general with helldivers, i dont think there's any super useless strats or bad ones. There are ones that are bad in specific conxtexts or niches
like Orbital Precision stirke with Quasar? Yeah, that's a bit of a nombo.
They're doing very similar things, you want more crowd control with the quasar.
I just tried the arc with the flamer and didnt like it. obviously very good gun
but the team risk and inability to hit shriekers
Also I started brining railgun for a while, and I found it very serviceable as a tool to pop hive guards, brood commanders, and spewers in the head from afar. Overcharging still works for chargers but it was more effort than I found worth doing so I just did stun -> precision orbital
The former I don't consider a real issue with either arc weapons, but the latter is very real. It only can get them on the swoop down and it's so tense swiveling your head looking for which one is coming next
Quite bluntly, my solution to arc weapons having the potential to instakill allies is "get an intuitive feel for the properties of the weapon and use that to just not ever arc them by accident"
Plus the arc-12 won't actually kill a diver if only one of the arcs gets em, just a little knockdown stun (can be bad but it's not "dead")
Now if you meatshot all three arcs into someone yeah they're absolutely cooked but that's true of any gun anyway

Currently my bug goto primaries are Punisher and Dominator, mainly dominator currently
i need to give the scythe another go now it's been buffed up, and i need to try out the scorcher properly too
(I love the scorcher into bots)
I mean I do think OPS is pretty weak
I donât think it really does anything which Eagle air strike canât do as well or better
Except be used near AA I guess but thatâs very niche
That and it kills big slow taegets like bile titans and factory walkers more consistently in my experience
Like yeah you can get them with an Eagle Air but that's not consistent and when one of the big bastards is breathing down your team's neck sometimes you need something precise
Plus it is an excellent demolition tool, being able to knock out Detector Towers, Turrets, Research Stations and almost everything elsethat requires either a Hellbomb or 500kg
On a really short cooldown with respectable AOE too
Kills chargers, bile titans, and hulks more reliable, but requires more setup to do so than just hucking a line of bombs
It's an incredibly powerful nuke on a very short cooldown
Really good damage vs ATATs too
cost is to maximize it's power you need it to direct hit
(it's noticably weaker if it doesnt impact directly, it's shell impact is a lot of damage)
It's basically a slower 500kg on a shorter cooldown
it's big advantages are it doesnt get b locked by anti air, it doesnt eat up eagle rearm time (Which makes your eagle airstrike/500kgs better), and it's just absolotuey a monster against heavy targets

Yeah, a 500kg has to be perfectly under the bile titan to kill, a precision can kill if it hitrs anywhere on the body
How's the AOE shape differ?
500kg is a small sphere with a conal compment whhere most of it's damage is
which is why you have to land it under BT's to really max the damage
andf why it kills detector towers and suprsingly werid angles
(You can see this vs nests that are high up and you land a 500kg low down - if they were flat on the ground, tehy'd be fine, but since they;'re high up they get popped)
precision is just a sphere.
I mean, i cant actually turn on hitboxes and see these things
but this is based on what i'm seeing in game etc

Tbf I also think the 500 kilo is somewhere between also bad and very overrated
I like how it has good uptime for buildings
I've found it invaluable for killing bile titans when I run it with airburst on bug missions
also like to be fair "More damage" is very relative here - Theo lnly things the more damage matters on is Bile titans and At-ats.

I can appreciate not needing 500kg/precision orbital by virtue of bringing support weapons and primaries that cover those roles, and in the same vein the opposite where bringing 500kg + precision orbital gives you all the anti-building and anti-heavy you need so you can run more light and medium clear weapons.

Yes, that's exactly what i do - Precision and 500kg, then shield and flamethrwoer
and a priamry that compliments all that, plus grenade pistol and stuns
Sometimes you just run an 8 and don't even realize that you're not in 6
Bile titans are still a weakness in the loadout, if i run out of cooldowns i'm fucked
It's what I carry to help deal with big things when I run Eruptor + Stalwart. It's also just good for bots in general
but like, good i should not have a universal loadout, i should have wekanesses i need my teammates to cover
I guess it's just a playstyle diference then đ I think 500kg and OPS get better on high diffs where their heavy-buster abilites come to the fore
Also did exosuit get nerfed at some point? Used it earlier and the rockets were SUPER jank to use due to their launch angle and I once had to dunk 5 rockets to kill a single charger despite aiming for the usual kill spots

The fix for the rocket self killing the mech was adjusting the position it came out of it, they never adnusted the crosshairs

I usually run 380/180, cluster bombs/airburst support weapon (something which can kill heavies usually) and a green (autocannon for bugs, mortar for bots) when I'm not trying new things
I hope they plan to fix it but I also heard someone say that they said they're fine with it which I hope isn't the case because arguably rockets are the strongest thing the poor mech has at this point

The headshot damage reduction against bots is pretty noticable, I can consistently gauge roughly how many times I need to be shot by light troopers before I need to stim without a random one just chunking my health, to a lesser extent hunters are noticeably less deadlier with their random melee headshots

also the grenade pistol taking literally 4 resup bricks to get back to full ammo is criminal
I happen to really like it but I think I overall do a lot better with the dominator or shotguns

Probably the grenade pistol also have huge damage AoE falloff, I notice even small bugs not directly hit by the grenade pistol will survive if they're like a foot away
the grenade pistol does more direct hit damage than explosive aoe damage iirc
or at least it splits it much more harshly than impacts
Grenade pistol for me, is 8 fabs/nests gone from a distance and occasionally pop medium enemies or in emergencies explosive sacs on chargers/BT.
Makes sense, it can be aimed better than nades

in the long ass EULA sony reserves the right to terminate accounts that arent made in the actual country of the user.
PSN doesnt support a lot of the countries that currently exist in the world.
meaning people who wish to play are likely to either be locked out or risk their accounts getting suspended

i think this is not likely to happen given anecdotal testimonials from people who've put the wrong country and been fine for years or even a decade, but whats most likely to happen is if the PSN account has any issues you wont be able to get customer support about it

It's illegal per the GSDB according to reddit armchair lawyers so EU will be all over that if they don't allow refunds for suddenly effectively bricking the game in certain countries.
Steam will likely have to allow refunds to those countries where you can buy helldivers 2 on steam but can't make a PSN account.
I hope it's true, another case of EU pro consumer laws fucking over big corporations trying to appeal to shareholders is great.

Steam has done refunds for games since like 2015 I believe is when something bad happened regarding and unplayable game and the EU forced steam to refund games if they wanted to operate in the EU and their refund policy since then has gotten very generous.

The EU refund thing is basically steam will refund a game that doesn't work after its automatic refund policy ends (2 hours played or 2 weeks owned I believe) and that's been in effect for a long time but it's customer service based so you wait. But it's not the case for those who purchased from Sony

Right, but I don't see them nuking mandatory PSN accounts entirely - which is what this would do. Because if your data protection argument is that PSN asks for too much information for HD2, that means it asks for too much info for any game, and suddenly PSN accounts aren't valid at all.

those people COULD make "fake" psn accounts for themselves in different countries but that would be requiring them to break the contract rules to abide by the contract rules

The "argument" the reddit post made, is that the product works fine without the extra information PSN asks for, and now they're asking for more without changing functionality. Idk how well that holds up.

Sony will say "oh sorry, AH/we fucked up in setting up the Steam store page, we'll restrict that post-haste to match where PSN is available and refund the others" and that'll be it, is my expectation - if they get any official scrutiny at all.
