Introduction to Quests:

To shamelessly rip off use in a fair and balanced way a much better post on sufficientvelocity, quests are a system of roleplaying where there are one or more GMs that present a situation for the players (read: everyone else) to interact with, typically by voting on what a particular character should do.

The basic flow is:

1. The GM presents a scenario, i.e. "Stanley came to a set of two open doors"
2. The players, as a collective, suggest and vote on what to do: "Plan CASE BROWN: Stanley spends exactly 37 minutes running around the room and screaming rather than actually progressing the plot"
3. The GM does mechanics things and generally figures out what happens next: "Uhhhhh ok you do that, there's still two open doors"
4. Goto 2

a mini-RPG system like GWAFA is reasonably easy to run in a PBP format, silly enough that I can deal with the playerbase going nuts, and can be as long or as short as I want depending on my availability

Getting On With The Show: 1/x

Scenario:

You are a goblin, part of a group of ne'er-do-wells with the goal of robbing a rich person absolutely blind. In this case, that would be fashion icon Gabriel Conduit, famed the world over for his lines of casual chic athleticwear. However, Gabriel has made his money through dastardly means, such as sweatshops and capitalism, and in the process has managed to acquire a potion of eternal youth, which he hides in his Premier Resort Rated Vacation Club ancient indigenous (trendy) volcano temple. Your contact, who has also gathered both plans of the property and additional goblins for the heist crew, has informed you that not only is the volcano temple guarded by a crack platoon of anti-goblin specialists (hired on Myrk, 4.8 star rating), but the potion itself is embedded inside something only labelled as "the torment nexus."

This will be a tricky heist for sure, but you and your ass are confident that you can get it done.

Rolls:

Put some characters together and vote for those. I'd also like one (1) additional roll of a d4 to determine the number of spare other gobbos we have on the team.

I'll check in sometime tomorrow and see where things are.

the way it works is that I present a scenario, and then people come up with options and ideas and such and post those, and then other people either post more possible options or vote on existing ones and then after an arbitrary amount of time whatever got the most votes wins and happens

and then it continues

so this lays out the scenario and what the first set of people interactions does, then there'll be a waiting period for people to submit ideas and votes, then I come back and see what won

if you wanted to participate, since we're in chargen it's just roll up a character and maybe add some detail here and there. Optionally, roll....1d4 to determine the number of other goblins in the group

but participation is open to everyone

the group consensus controls a single player, with the rest being controlled largely by whatever I think would be the funniest

Potential complication prompt: the goblins encounter a rival group of bootylicious kobolds after the same prize. There is an equal number of kobolds to goblins and the kobolds are basically counterparts to the goblins. If one of the goblins is secretly a kobold, their counterpart is secretly a goblin.
