Nice! The video is currently private, but I’d say maybe call it the “Lancer Sitrep Toolkit”?
I’m guessing it loads in LCPs or data exported from CompCon?

I'm really hoping for an "NHP" abbreviation, but Lancer Sitrep Toolkit definitely seems more intelligible than "New Hostile Planner"

And nice on the LCPs; the screenshot looked like it had player names so that’s why I asked if it incorporated compcon exports
Okay I watched the video and I think the workflow is solid! You basically covered all of the “next steps” that came to my mind as well
The couple things I’d likely suggest:
- A simple “d20 +/- Xd6 +/- flat number” dice roller
- Maaaaaaaybe an action tracker (these are fiddly at the best of times though, so it may be less important)
I'll add a dice roller to the list of maybes 🤔
I don't think I'm interested in tracking actions. Trying to give the program the ability to handle all that (with undos / redos / special actions) quickly and effortlessly seems like a lot of work for something that I just keep in my head as a gm anyways 🤷
Yeah exactly what I mean about it being fiddly lol. The most I would honestly expect would be something like Protocol/[2 quicks|1 full]/movement and maaaaaaybe an off turn reaction checkmark
And you’d just click it on/off to indicate when it’s used or done (or if you’re undoing the action, whatever it was)
tracking used reactions and refreshing them on a new round makes sense, I'll add that to the list too
rechargeable features are on the list as well
That’s fair; tbh I was only thinking about whether a character still had their Reaction on a given turn but if it’s easy to get that data from the LCPs then I say go for it
The drag and drop workflow does look way faster than current Compcon. Nice work!
Being able to see all the things an NPC can do spilt into those categories, and with the colour coding is really nice
Small UX change I'd recommend: changing the hostile checkbox to be a drop down with hostile / neutral / allied, to make it clearer what it's for and provide a third option
As for feature requests:
- saving a group of players as a party to add all at once would be nice
- being able to view multiple things in the details panel at once to save clicking around a lot. Shift + click to add would make sense, with some indication of what's currently selected
Do you think it would be good enough to show the details for the last X things that have been highlighted, or were you thinking more like the ability to pin / unpin details?
Pinning would work even better yeah! That would also prevent accidentally clearing your selections. Seeing the last X things means the user doesn't have full control of what's in the panel at once, so doesn't quite achieve the goal
Though I imagine it would be best to have pins for each NPC that aren't visible when you select another, as you generally control only 1 at a time so only need to see their options, aside from reactions.
... Hmm, an available reaction pool from all NPCs might be useful too? I forget Commander stuff all the time for example haha

no, sorry! I didn't get as much interest as I was hoping for, and moved on to other projects. Comp/Con and other custom VTT solutions are good enough for most people, it seems 🤷
Would love to chat about what you completed sometime! I have a working model in #1355566746840334367 and I'm hoping to work it into larger scale lancer campaign/video game generation later on :)
