||my character is an egregorian, which was recovered by the SSC organization somehow as an egg or larvae. she grew up in a secret enclave (nakamura enclave, in some SSC owned moon i called Koda). as egregorians are really valuable and rare, she was trained harshly since she basically came out of the chrysalis. she spent most of the time inside a mecha, her body reacting to the stress by being on the smaller side and fitting and controlling a mecha with ease, to the point that she developed 2 personas; outside of the mecha, she is just polite, silent, and kinda adorable. but from the moment she enters a mecha, until she leaves it, she becomes the killing machine SSC wanted her to be. if she doesnt have an objective she defends herself and roams around, but any objective set to be eliminated, is soon to be ceased. they basically trained her to be a Commando, the type that one sends to lone quests. as so, i thought that her having some hacking ability can be good to ensure her own survival, but overall i like the idea of a build of "hiding in plain sight, hits you, disappears again, repeat".||

||her name is reverie, as the SSC allowed her to choose her own name based on what she understand of her own nameplate, but she was given a surname that is the name of the enclave she grew up in. her callsign comes from that, as she is almost all the time in a mecha, the moment she comes out, what people see is a moth coming out... so she is like a chrysalis, a walking chrysalis. She was taught many things by the SSC, as a Commando she was kinda trusted, but the most important information, about the fate of her people, was omitted, as she was told that they saved her from oblivion, and she is the only one left (or one of the only ones, if theres other egregorians in that secret enclave). ||

||she has been with mechas all her life, her favourites were dusk wing and amber phantom, thats why she is going to get one again in the future. the last bit of her backstory is that, apparently, someone inside the SSC was agaisnt what they were doing to Chrysalis, and after machinating a plan, sent the egregorian to some sneak mission to Calliope. She was told to use a basic LL0 mecha to blend in, to integrate within the society, and to await for further instructions once she is there. ofc, this is all a farse, a farse that SSC isnt happy about, but Chrysalis doesnt know better, and thats the situation she is in. Unfortunately the plan left barely any traces, so the SSC will take some time to find Chrysalis again, so most probably someone like Jerry will give another profile to the egregorian for her licenses so the SSC cant track her movements.||

Ch3 ||The mass driver is intended to propel spacecraft to a high enough altitude to safely fire their torch drives which tells me high orbit at best. The laser is in low orbit (100-800km), but Impact Plaza is at the L4 point for one of Asphodel's moons. (184,000 km). That said, any GM can set things how they like and honestly? an NHP player launching themselves to the satellite to take it over directly would be cool as fuck and I'd totally allow it. Just a problem of getting back and what to do with the rest of the party during the trip. Going to Impact Plaza could also work, disrupt the communications with the laser from the source... but offers a lot of additional complications that would be a lot of fun to RP. I think splitting the party is the bigger problem. ||

Kristiaan interrupted with some very pointed barbs, it kind of felt like Vex was confronting her own villain directly, it was amazing. Then he asked to speak with us privately, with Rose in particular.||

I've had practice with gming for players who have (foolishly) entrusted their backstory to me without viewing it themselves. It has made me an evil schemer of the highest order.

its not about how they have influenced your character at the start of the game (in practice pcs are never quite what you imagined them to be beforehand. No plan survives contact with the players is true for the players not just the GM after all). It's about how i can use them to torture your character in the present and future!

(and provide like... satisfying conclusions and moments of happiness and catharsis but framing it all as mean mean torture is way funnier)

The prosecution wanted access to their combat capabilities for their own ends, although the NHP technician instructed to make them useful instead stole them away and is trying to give them a new life in Calliope||

lancer is a pretty mobile game, it's very objective based so you can't always immobilize yourself with crackshot, but when you can line it up it hits just right

i recently had a combat where i did like 24 damage in a single turn with crackshot 1
