Maybe not avoiding to lose mmr, but maybe like half or lower mmr then normal
Otherwise ppl would learn to farm this tactic and only get positive mmr with 0 risk of losing
But sure some kind of sub for players leaving/disconnecting is needed
things like this happen in every game
