Yeah they are tanky the issue is they are easily countered, you swap one in and the opponent just counter swaps with a gastro or Kwak and you get farmed down

It's similar to swapping a Basti in

Of course you can't build and account for everything but usually you would want your safe swap to be more neutral which allows it to have play into a lot of things

Usually when I'm team building I try to have it so my safe swap will have some kind of similar coverage as my lead, like if I lead with Gren I would have my swap be something with a water or dark type move so I would go Gren, Drapion and then Clod or Toxapex

Like here, I'm leading Chesnaught with Ninetales as my swap
