Spring 2022 is full of a bunch of great anime, but in my opinion certain things are better watching week-by-week and certain things are better to binge-watch. Here's my opinion on this season's anime.
Aharen-san wa Harekenai: Week-by-week
Just like most slice-of-life, Aharen-san wa Harekenai doesn't seem to have any overarching story. Great way to end every Friday evening with a funny, relaxing episode.
Kaguya-sama Season 3: Week-by-week
Just like Aharen-san, this series is incredibly episodic in nature, so it's another great weekly interruption for the daily monotony of life.
Ao Ashi: Binge-watch
I'm going to wait until Ao Ashi is finished before I watch the rest of it. I started the first two episodes, and while it greatly appeals to me, it's seeming like it'll be something that's better to binge-watch rather than on a weekly-basis since it's a fluid story and each episode flows into the next one.
Spy x Family: Week-by-week
I've read the manga, so I know for at least this first season, it's definitely something very enjoyable on a weekly basis. In future seasons, there will be some story arcs that'll be probably better binge-watched for continuity, but for now, it's safe to just enjoy each weekly episode.
Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie: Week-by-week?
I think this one has fair arguments for both sides. While it's also episodic in nature, it's also not something I'm dying to watch every week. It's good, but not so good that I'm like "I can't wait for the next episode" at the end like I am with all the other animes I've been watching.
Summertime Render: Binge-watch
This one is definitely something you'll wanna wait till it's done airing to watch. (small spoilers) ||The very fact that the main character is living the same day over and over again, it'll be much easier to keep track of everything if you binge-watch it rather than if you were watching an episode a week. Every little detail seems to be important in this anime, and you might forget the small details between each episode.|| Definite binge-watch.
A Couple of Cuckoos: Binge-watch?
With only one episode out at the time of writing, I don't have an official verdict yet. But it seems this one is going to be a much better binge-watch than it'd be as a weekly anime.
