The mineral deposit nearby is Iron and Quartz so far. I really need to figure something out with fortifications.
Update: double quartz plus iron.
Photodump 1 as things were getting established and the industries moved from the village center to outside the walls.
First chunk of wheat/flour/bread production getting set up
Final shots of the evening before logging off.
Of the mineral deposits right by my village:
- Two quartz, one iron
- One gold, two stone
- One stone, one iron, and I think one gold (offscreen in the second of the photos above behind the wheat fields)
All I really did yesterday was plan for a satellite village for wool and mineral deposits. I really hope I’ve got everything (except houses because I didn’t want to paint that yet).
Just start it like you did when you started the game. Build up the minimal basics to get going then specialize from there.
Agree with that.👆
- don't build it all up at once. You'll kill your economy
- set a well and markets
- depending on how far you are from your granary is away you may want to set up a new one near your new markets, and get some food berries at the least started.
- berry bushes spawn on the outskirts of forests
- leave space for housing. I would get your housing brush, set it to the largest size and paint a single circle. At that size it can fit 3 home spots, heavy fortify them that will give you 30 vacancy spots. Like the image I shared
- place the watchpost outside it with 1 patroller
- one by one start adding your new workstations, allowing them to fill up
It actually didn’t tank my economy, surprisingly. It’s still not spectacular but it’s going okay I think. I only just unlocked heavy fortifications while writing this
Well it's going ok is better than tanking so that's a win 😄
I think I need to clear space for more farms but I’m not totally sure where I want to do that and I’m trying to resist buying tiles constantly. I’m often bad about that.
lol I get it.
Fun fact I've been on this 1 territory for 78 months 😁
I hate sprawl.
I may need to do a one tile challenge one of these days
I play super slow, and have played the game since like 2018, so there is that.
I just got the game in November when I got my gaming PC but it had been on my wishlist since like 2022 or something.
I try to focus on small projects, never really trying to add too much. Over time I sprawl oput, but it takes time lol.
Nice it's a great game
Yeah I’m trying to force myself to do that with this save. I’ve been… moderately successful so far.
I was able to stop myself from rushing to farming and sheep until I had gotten my meat mostly functional. That’s a big win for me.
On this current game I've spent most time getting my heavy walls up, with only 12 villagers...
which took quite some time. Swapping workers to fill in the needed jobs then getting the polished stone going the whole time. For me cutting down on housing sprawl helps with not over buying territories. Hence the 3 housing spots which gives you 30 vacancies.
You just have to be patient while waiting. I usually quicksave and then go do house work lol
suggestion - stone walls around sheep farms (and/or wheat/dairy ones) are resource hungry on stone, better to get used to using wood, because when you later get into challenge mode Aspiration games stone resources are much more limited, they run out after 400 stone
Oooooh thanks for the tip
The stone "mines" are unlimited though so you just need to find one for later projects
This should be pinned ;p especially love the part about the huge brush +1 tower/patrol
