Got the demo and was enjoying it, but I got to a point where I needed to upgrade my serfs to commoners in order to progress so I bought the game. Launched the game to find out I cant load the save because the demo is a newer version than the full game???

I believe all the verbage on the first page you see when you open the Demo, expalins this. The early access art work and many of its functions, are very different from the Demo. You can not continue your saved Demo game, if you purchase early access. You (all of us) need to wait for the final version at the end of January, to play a full game with everything unlocked, and have the new art work and functions you see in the Demo. If you have purchased the early access game, I recommend you play it and get used to most of the functions on how most everything will work in the final version. There are some game play differences between the Demo and early access though. In early access, you need to paint the rock piles and berry bushes with the blue extraction paint brush, for the respective workers of each structure, to gather the resources. We all must be patient until end of January, for us to enjoy all the new stuff and look of the game. But rest assured, that playing the early access in the mean-time, will still be enjoyable and give you time to learn much of the detailed functions until we have the final game.
