Hi. I was wondering what should I get first for my Immutable Crystallum. I have a weaponless JDS from previous patch event. This patch event will also grant also grant free Sena. I should be at 20 Crystallum soon with BP, so I could get either of the weapons.
I was thinking getting JDS weapon first because it's time limited, while Sena's one can be bought at any point.
But maybe I'm missing something with the priorities?
Still having very few P2 valks, so filling my roster feels like something I should focus on.

This is what I'm currently at... JDS, VBs, and HoH are weaponless for now. I was planning to ||pull for HoH DLC later in the patch||.

going into a higher tier will certainly increase the enemy's bulk in exchange for greater rewards. the higher you go the less you'll be able to bruteforce and the more you'll need to use proper answers and play properly

but also this cycle is a quantum boss. They gain huge damage reduction until they are fully collapsed. In some cases like lower tiers or certain phases of certain enemies, you can brute through this damage reduction, but otherwise you will want to find ways to fully collapse them.

the boss generally gives you collapse attacks to dodge at certain points in time or after a number of set attack animations. I'm not really sure what you mean by stalling but

• while you're waiting for those moves you can still be doing other things like attacking or buffing. Albeit FDD attacks (enh WA mainly) generally slow down the boss so maybe this is double edged.

Maybe do a scout run and see how much damage FDD can deal with a full outburst while the boss is collapsed. You want to maximize your outburst usually

once you know how much you can deal (let's say 5/8 bars of hp), you can aim to deal the remaining (3/8 bars of hp) damage while the boss is still non-collapsed.

and maybe waiting the remaining time out without using FDD's actions that would slow down the boss (enhanced WA mainly).

actually sorry technically not always. The sound denotes the upcoming attack is a collapse move but the timing of the sound isn't always when you should be evading. It's an attack by attack basis

i misread and thought you were merely asking if the sound denotes it's a move you want to dodge for collapse

kosma in particular has a laser attack, or a jumping tail swipe that can happen when he's already on ground or when he sinks below ground iirc? but you want to evade against the actual hitbox of the attack which might be a bit delayed from the sound effect timing

the concept is pretty much the same, albeit these bosses are more forgiving and give you their collapse attacks early. Kosma is not so nice will give it to you late

but you can see how while they were waiting for the collapse moves they were still doing other actions like setting up buffs or still getting some damage, then once the collapse is fully done they go all in

hitcount phase can definitely use some work. Don't rely on FDD's regular sequence to handle it.

• Learn to apply some of Vita's basic 2 cancels (jump as soon as the second basic starts. You only get two jumps though. Any more after will have to be other actions like evading)
• and maybe QTE in Helia to refresh her buff (stig 3 pc) effect towards the end of the hitcount phase. The QTE is a good rate of hitcount over time. You triggered the 3pc buff initially at 4 ingame time at top right, but by the time kosma is vulnerable at 30 or so, it's already all gone (it only lasts 25s or so)
• if you have to use FDD, then maybe try non enhanced weapon active spams but i think you can try omitting FDD entirely until kosma is vulnerable
• vita's hold fist attack is debatable here. It's slow but it does give you a lot of astral ring energy if you're looking to double outburst this fight.
  • while you aren't able to finish the fight with a full power second outburst, i feel the value of the first outburst may not be that good though since you're dealing reduced damage and slowing down the boss with it.
  • overall i'm not going to know what the true answer is. You'll have to try out both ways. One being as you already are doing with Vita hold attack and double outburst, and another where you ignore the vita hold attack, and hold on to outburst until full collapse.

as for evading his attacks, take the time to observe and understand kosma attack patterns and sequences. It's a bit random within a limited pool but he always does the collapse attack at a certain point (and gives you another one if you miss the initial one). If you anticipate a collapse move soon, then maybe purposely stop attacking so you can actually evade it.

however for this particular case i do think it was fair for you to miss it to delay it since you were still recharging ARI for your second outburst

Depends a lot on what the current boss is. As only recent valks get bosses backpulling is pretty discouraged.

With other options scoring similarly or requiring specific supports

And older valks rarely have their bosses run

But there’s not been any outright replacement for p2 yet

f2p gacha income is limited, and meta is a big influence on crystal income

so generally speaking this is why recommendations are often long term and meta focused

if you save and pull appropriately you can achieve most of the roster and get to the semifinal tier of the meta for most of its rewards pretty consistently

how much have you already spent on this? pity doesn't carry over for starter banner so if you already spent a significant amount then maybe you can argue to finishing it. Otherwise maybe cut your loss so you can reserve your crystals for more worthwhile releases over the long term

anyway that brings us back to this. losing 30 rolls is chunky but also arguably small in the grand scheme of things

although if you actually like FDD or FWS sentimentally then you can justify it. Just know it's not good meta value

weapons are also important in this game. They're similar in HSR where they can be a roughly 30-40% dps increase in personal damage but the extent of that influence is different in this game because you're actually contesting other players for high scores, and not just looking to clear an arbitrary goal point like 10 cycles or 6600 points or something

and with that stated, i generally recommend people to stay away from making relations to other hoyo games because this game is so much older and alot of attempts can lead to costly and faulty conclusions

for now since you have SW and her weapon you'll prob use her with VBm Coralie. I'm not 100% sure for the third slot (edit: until you get free sena). You can consider VBs helia (valkyrie boltstorm)/pardofelis (reverist calico)/shigure kira (sugary starburst)/Jade Knight Sushang

maybe for simplicity you can consider VBs for now. She technically fits with the team but her issue is that alot of her effects boosts specifically lightning damage when SW is ice dps. Keep investment on VBs light (just A rank and some cheap equipment are enough). Main action she'll do is QTE > weapon active into her aim mode > lob the grenade to trigger her team elemental damage boost effect

there's more i can say about the rest of the team too but i don't want to overwhelm you. Lmk if you want to move on, or what else you want to know, or if you want a break for now and explore on your own

main advice i have for the last idea is to be conservative. Try not to spend crystals, honkai shards, source prisms (can spend the latter two on SW). Those are prob your most important resources.

Like everything in this game it depends on the situation. Generally i'd say that youyun is a bit more focused on SS because SS is needed for the initial ari and early SO exit for older WS valkyries. Especially the intial ari is quite nice with stellar surplus being a thing in both WS and WoD.
While youyun can support both WoD and WS her intial ari for WoD is lower compared to Serapeum so you may prefere her there in some situations.

Generally i wouldn't recommend you to pull for aops if you're just chilling in RL and/or are a f2p and rather save for future valkyries since coverage is far more important

If you're a returnee then you get put on the bridge and a short dialogue plays welcoming you back basically, but if you open the game to the tutorial on the jet then that is an account that has never progressed past the tutorial so its either new, or old but never gotten past the tutorial.

if you used to play the hoyoverse version but play the steam version now then that could also be it, the steam version is different and doesnt use hoyoverse accounts

np and good luck! as a side note, it is totally up to you but if you are usually mostly interested in the meta then the beginner account rewards are much better than returnee, and most of the 3+ year old valks are free and not really usable in the end game anymore, theres a couple of niche exceptions that require a lot of resources to be sunk into them so the general advice is if you care about being competitive then its better to restart with a brand new account but as always its totally up to you!
