Basically, after she starts hanging around Captain and Sirin a bit, Rita starts getting rather conflicted in regards to Otto's plans. And she just so happens to let slip, at some point, the location of the real Kiana. Obviously this is a fair bit into the story, Sirin is a lot more functional and mature... And she knows who that girl is, and who has her.
Insert a pretty big raid on the labs not too unlike the first Battle of Schicksal, literally having to drag a so incredibly sheltered Kiana she barely knows how to process anything that's going on out, aaaand basically forcing Otto to deal with it one way or another.
Basically making it too much effort for him to actually try and get Sirin, and Kiana back.
So he just goes "Fuck it. Fine. Whatever. Get the fuck out of here."
