Voting now has no point at all 'cause you need to go through the judges first to be allowed to enter "Community Pick" competition.
Also contest page always mixes up all the entries before you use the filters, so in general everyone has the equal chance to be seen.
BUT.
Some entries were uploaded later than others, and they got more votes in 3-4 days to jump higher from 4 to 1 page, and it looks suspicious.
I don't want to be rude or smth, but this is strange.

I posted mine on the subreddit and it got 100+ upvotes but not everyone voted on the actual page. It also doesn't help if someone saw it after they already voted 3 times, and then forget about it the next day. Also, after submission deadline, when you click vote the first time it said event is over. had to tell my friend to try clicking it twice for the vote to go through.

After that, 8 winners are selected for the region incl community pick, and then those 26 winners have a chance to be in the top 5 global winners.

My friend participated in it, and there were some sort of... strange things. It was held officially and ruled by devs as it was said, people drew TONS of beautiful entries, however after the first stage lots of them were disqualified. Why? There were rules which were not announced, so all artworks with more than 1 character, with artist's signature and complicated background went out of contest.
It was right before Honkai contest was announced, so I was extremely cautious about the rules, format and etc.

@frank patrol That's the reason I don't really like systems with votes which can be abused. The closer deadline is, the more nervous I am, plus I got a paranoia feeling that two Bronya pieces are chasing my Sieg... .____.
About style: I've written it here before, but don't mix "style" and "manner" - styles can change whenever you want, however your personal manner is yours for forever. You can try to copy mine, but you'll never be able to copy specific traits of my arts which allow people to recognize me. Same works for me if I'll try to copy yours.

AEN, That is understandable and I do get that no one can ever attain another's "manner" (in your case). Even if some think that, the large majority of those who don't understand art or have a hard time distinguishing differences, will judge (as humans like to judge) and then complain or compliment how a work is either unique, boring, looks plagerized, etc. That's what concerns me whenever I upload an artwork. I've had a lot of instances where people complained to me for "copying" someone else or "stealing" another person's 'style'. When I draw, I do it for my own entertainment and to challenge myself. But with the eyes of others gleaming down on me, it does pressure me a little

I am kinda lenient on "copying other people's art styles", as long as you're not flat out tracing it.
Even when copying their will still be quirks that's unique to you incomparison to the other artist. Like the telephone game, except with art. Each "iteration" will be similar, but not exactly the same. 
My art style is literally a Frankenstein of many different artists I like xD

@frank patrol You previously told that your mom says about your photographic memory - everyone who linked with art (in a graphic way) has it. Sometimes it works as disadvantage - I stopped to progress with my contest entry when I realised that I've seen all poses I chose before, but my artist friend just kicked me and said "keep calm and draw, everything was invited before you - you'll copy something one way or another, it's inevitably." So I'll just advice the same thing: keep calm and draw, don't let anyone ruin your mood and progress, listen carefully, but accept only justified critics. Every artist is a thief, but professional one, you know

Since the captain is you, I made my captain my own OC. Captain Violet Nocte Rain Frost. And she is a very reasonable and fun loving captain that will spoil her Valks.

her weapon is wire like Cross Tail from Akame Ga Kill but the wire is able to safely charge from her electricity if she feels like it. She can slice and dice of leave you paralyzed as she shocks you to death. She would be a SS rank.
**Note she is a mancer that can control lightning and plasma. So she uses them to buff herself and weapon.

@bitter yoke Stigmata can be the sole symbol. 3 pieces - it just in-game mechanics, but in Honkai story it's the sole symbol. Plus in Honkai guidebook every stigmata set has its own "united" symbol))

@exotic axle I just thought about the same thing. Actually I really like to personalize chars when you play as a "leader" - played a lot in Otogi, love Japanese traditional style, so this idea also doesn't quit me for a looooong time. Probably I should try to make smth like this for Honkai too.
